Delta1 went rogue and sent out his own TAG! box. Hence I felt it deserves it’s own, standalone thread to keep track of who was tagged and the follow ups.

This afternoon I happened to be outside when the mail lady came so when she handed me a good-sized unmarked brown box, I was slightly confused. My wife orders a lot of stuff from Amazon and QVC but those parcels are clearly marked, this one was not. But with the return address, I knew it was from Al…or unless, like Z, the real sender falsified the information. Nonetheless, I was in total bewilderment as there weren’t any trades, splits, PIBs, box passes, etc., going on so why in heaven’s name was he sending something?

Took the box inside and quickly opened it up. On top were 3 Kelley’s Kookies chocolate dipped macadamia shortbread cookies (…won’t last long…), a 6 oz. can of Blue Diamond Smokehouse flavored almonds (…like the cookies, WLL…) and a bag that contained a CBid “7er”.

A. Fuente Casa Cuba Doble Dos
CLE Prieto y Prensado CG (nh)
Drew Estate Liga Privada No. 9 Corona Viva - don’t think I’ve had but could be wrong
My Father La Promesa Lancero (nh)
Tatuaje L’esprit Verite 2013 - excellent smoke!

ISOM
(2x) Montecristo No. 5

Also a nice handwritten Happy New Year note that closed with a p.s. that said, “TAG rules apply”. So, I’ve been TAGGED! Touche! Hopefully will decide upon an appropriate “victim” shortly.

All of that is w-a-y beyond anything a fella could ask for but NOOOOO, in addition to the goodies and smokes, Al sent a Mexican serape to help me contend with those freezing sub-70s Hawaiian nights out in the garage. On the “Summer smoking” thread, I had mentioned looking for a heater for those need-to-bundle-up nights and Al suggested looking into the Mexican-wear-a-blanket alternative. Did a quick Amazon search and visions of Clint Eastwood danced in my head. Unfortunately the one serape I liked was out of stock so put the search on hold. A few weeks later, I mentioned on the thread that I needed to get back to the search. And then this mystery box arrives!

Incredible timing as I was looking on Amazon last night and narrowed it down to two. Couldn’t decide so told my wife I was gonna sleep on it and revisit / purchase later on. But won’t, obviously, need to do that now. The serape Delta sent is nice and thick and given the cold spell we’ve been having (…temps in the low 70s…) will try it out tonight. Blown away by the timing and generosity! Thanks Al!

But hmm, now that I think about it, I may not have a SFR box to put the 5 (…or so…) cigars in so gonna hafta make a trip to the post office in the next day or 3 to get one. Be back in a few days with an update.

You're welcome Conan...I hope the serape makes you more comfortable while having a cigar. It is always a joy to give you a small gesture of thanks for all the generosity you've shown here over the years. The pleasure is mine...

Well played Al, well played!!!

A fiver Conan? You’re gonna send a fiver? I pity the person on the receiving end since you count fractions on your way from 1-5.

Delivered a couple days ago. Sure hope he didn’t move ‘cause it’s been awhile since I sent anything to him.

Well, well, well…It appears someone had way too much time on their hands. I was away from home overnight and returned on the afternoon of Jan 30. I felt like crap and thought that I had the flu. I headed for the bedroom and the wife did mention that I had received a couple of packages. I had ordered a couple of things so no big deal. For the most part I stayed in the bed until late yesterday afternoon. I started feeling better and got up and began moving around. I decided to check out the items I ordered and discovered a suspicious package that I had not ordered. I knew I was in trouble when I saw Conan’s name and return addy.

I did nothing to deserve this punishment, but the hit is most appreciated. Following is the initial post attack damage assessment:

3 Hawaiian music CD’s
Lion French Roast Coffee
4 Hawaiian Host snacks
NOH Teri-Burger seasoning mix
NOH Coconut pudding mix
NOH Hawaiian spicy chicken seasoning
4 Saimin spoons
bag of One-Ton chips (everyone’s favorite)
12oz Longboard Island lager
Abyss 2014 Reserve

This is the initial damage assessment and there will be a follow on assessment forth coming. There is more damage to report. Damn it Conan, you are a tough act to follow and one fine BOTL.

I am Conan the Destroyer and I approve of this message.

As far as the assertion that Burner did nothing to deserve his “punishment”, let me just say this, I am a patient man. In my early years here, Dan and I did splits on Cuban cigars (…some were aged…) as well as getting a couple of Four Roses store selection bottles. He really helped me “broaden my horizons” and for that, I am eternally grateful.

With that being said, Dan, I hope you and your family enjoy all of the packing material. Crossing my fingers that the Abyss still has some kick to it and hasn’t lost any of its wonderful flavors.

Looking forward to seeing who becomes your TAG! Delta1 Style target.

No problem on this end and I do like the AF's.

And FYI, a target has been identified but it will take a while before the attack is launched.

I split a Butte XXVII over the past two nights. For it to be a 2015 brew, it was very drinkable. I believe this bottle was gifted by Kipp a few years back and for some reason worked it's way to the back of the closet into hiding. Obviously, it could not hide forever.

Update

A portion of the grans assisted in the consumption of the Hawaiian Host snacks, Won-Ton chips and the NOH coconut pudding. They really enjoyed the snacks!

I'm in the processing of finishing off the bag of Lion French roast coffee which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Thanks again Al.
