If I smoke a cigar and "run out of time" what would someone suggest would be a good way to put it out? Also would this hurt the flavor of the cigar to relight it?

about the only thing I have found that works is to let it go out on it's own, clip the end off, and when you relight it, blow out of it once to clear any lingering smoke and or gasses, and then just relight it. Most times, you can finish it, but don't expect it to taste good as new, but it's generally acceptable

what danny said. sometimes i like to hold my torch up to the cigar as i blow thru it. not sure if it cleans out any of the stale air any better but it looks cool in the dark.

since i am sure i relight more cigars in a day than most people do in their life, i suggest you blow through it to clear out the smoke and set it down to go out by itself. cut the carbon off the end and relight but blow through the cigar once to clear out any residue smoke.

as i wander around the house, the patio, the garage, and the rumpus room, i realize how blessed i am to have so many relights available.

the ones in the patio that are damp from the morning dew or the rain require the micro treatment. usually 40 to 45 seconds on high will bring the damp ones down to 70%.

that is much safer than soaking a cigar in distilled water to increase it's moisture content.

when I said flavor, I didn't mean vanilla or ? I was trying to sound like I knew what I was talking about with my grownup cigars.

Rick wasn't talking about flavored cigars either. You are growing up so fast. Soon you will be off to college. I miss that little blond critter scampering about.

I avoid relights. When I am bothered during a smoke, I say things like "Go away, I am busy". And "I am sure that can wait". When really tested I may even go as far as "I am F***n' smoking here"! Never to the wife or kids of course. You may need shorter cigars for those rushed moments (Indian Tabac Scouts or Boxers). I have found however, that I can push a swing and smoke at the same time. Who'da thunk it!

A couple of months back, I was being rushed to get ready to go somewhere .... took my cigar into the shower (to the dismay of Mrs) ... it was close to being nubbed anyway ... produced a rather interesting effect too ... I tossed it over the shower stall and scored a basket when it went into the toilet ... didn't even hit the rim ...
