The Cigar Pequenos: A great start to this smoke. Good draw, nice mild flavor and plenty of mello aroma. Then, after about 2 inches, the flavor went flat and never got better. Very dissappointing. Will try again.

Puros Indios Maxima Reserva: I'm a PI nut, so I may be a little biased. But this was a damn fine smoke. On the medium side of full, with a very "balanced", (not necessarily complex) flavor. Did notice a little harshness and flavor drop off when it smoked down past the (removed) label. Normal on most cigars, but that's my favorite part of the regular PI's. I nubbed this one and never had to relight despite several interuptions. darn kids gotta learn how to swing without me pushing...
Just thought I'd share my comments on these.

Forgot one: Vegas de Fonseca
Definately a "first half" cigar. Started nice, much fuller than the regular Fonsecas. Smoked clean and even until just before the band. After that, started going sour, burned uneven, and had to relight it despite never putting it down.
May not be a fair test since it was somewhat windy at the beach, but I smoke enough cigars there to know when the re-lights are weather related.

Thanks for the info...I have two boxes of the Pequenos enroute from Cbid...I know Mr Mean said he liked them, but he'll smoke anything
I have had one PI Maxima Reserva about two months ago and I was really impressed with the excellent flavor and medium body...Very complex..Started out with a cocoa flavor and moved into hazelnuts and other robust flavors...The price is a little high for me though...I wish I can smoke this one everyday...BTW, I absolutely hate the regular PI line...Always have...they don't have a long finish and get harsh and unpleasant at the 1/2 mark for some reason, no matter how many times I purge it, so I end up tossing it

Like I said, I need to give the Pequenos another try after sufficient humidor time. It started out too good to ignore.
You brought up a good point regarding the PI Maxima Reserva. It's not like the regular PI line. The only similiarity is the perfect construction.

I'm surprised that Rookie mentions anything I say. He never listens to me.

Huh?!?! Oh, and I have smoked the Indos Puros in the past and found them to be a well balanced Medium to full bodied cigar! They are well made and attractive (cello on or off?) Is Slim back yet?

Dollar wise I don't think you can beat the Pequenos.

As for the PI regular line; I tried to smoke a box and got half way through it and traded the rest. I understand that the regular line is different from the others.

Did Mr. Mean say something?
