I noticed in the CI catalog that they had a hard time describing this cigar. I just tried one from a five pack and I can tell you exactly what it is. This is the cigar version of clove cigarettes with a touch of vanilla. You remember clove cigarettes? The ones that were burning holes in kids lungs? Oh yes, the top of the cigar is sweetened like a Swisher Sweet. Saying all that, I admit I did quite like it, it certainly won't be a regular, but worth to have a box around to have one once a month maybe. I'm afraid if you smoke these regularly you won't be able to go back to normal cigars after a time, as the overpowering flavor would take over you sense of taste, I mean these have big clove flavor. I also find it odd that this morning I had a slight craving for this cigar, I haven't experienced that before with any other cigar. I sit here and crave that flavored cigar as I write this, most odd.

Whoever you are, give us our Aberdeen back!

Which Acid is it that's not supposed to have such an overpowering flavor to it? I might try one but it would have to be one of the less-obtrusive.

Well they are DEFINATELY diffrent!

But I HATE it when anyone labels any of drew's lines across the board. Each smoke in each line is a little diffrent.

BUT, YES, Ambrosia is like Acid +... (Then again I think Natural is almost like acid -... not exactly, but something like that).

Having really started on ACIDs I will say that I will always enjoy them on occasion. I have started to appreciate the more traditional cigars, but Acids, Naturals, Ambrosia, will ALWAYS have a special place (and their own special humidor) in my home.

Which ambrosia did you try? I have been trying to win some of these, but the bidding sky-rockets.

Cliffe, I think you mean the Acid One cigar. Doesn't have the scent that the rest of the line does.

I won a five pack of the mother earth, this was the first time I got it at my bid price. If and when I get a box on auction it will be the spice as I always prefer the torpedo size when available. I haven't tried the Acid yet, so I can't compare the two, but Ambrosia does to me taste like a clove. In fact my wife use to like cloves, and when she walked in the garage she thought I was smoking one and was holding out on her. For a change a pace I do like them. I think Drew Estates next ought to do a cigar that tastes like pipe tobacco.

As I was saying before the baby pooped, to be plum honest I have had a hard time in trying to stop thinking about this cigar today, I still have this craving to have another. Maybe when Slim gets back and he and his addiction rhetoric will have something to say about that.

(since I really dont want to part with them)Hmmmmmmmm wonder what else they put in them cigars. By the way if a football pot winner wants one I have 2 for first come first serve.

So the one you really liked was the ambrosia mother earth? It was sweetened at the end and had a hint of vanilla?

wbslngr, I wanted to win the Spice in the Ambrosia line since that is the torpedo, but bidding was consistently over the CI catalog price, so I finally got a five pack of mother earth at a reasonable price. It is the toro size, my second favorite size and it was quite nice. So I will most likely get a box of Spice, but if mother earth comes along cheap I will get it, meet you at the bidding arena

If you want a less aromatic Acid try the 1 or any of the yellow banded acids. Ones are very nice. The Atom Maduro (yellow band) is very nice as well. For starters stay away from the purple line ie:Larry's, C-notes, Roam. The are way aromatic.

It wasn't me...........Leon

Jay, so what about the White Rabbit? What category is it?

White Rabbit is non-aromatic and from the Natural Line. I have not tried a Rabbit yet, but I am very fond of the Elixir 5-50. It is extremely creamy and a must try. Also I would recoment from natural the China 5. the strongest Natural I have had is the Leche. It was way to cedary for me but my buddy loves them. If you can get them the Jucy Lucy is the best short smoke around.

Not employed by Drew Estates..........Leon

Yes the Natural line is "Non aeromatic" but I think they are called "INFUSED" in otherwords, it isn't a "TRADITIONAL" smoke. I liked the White Rabbit, and the Elixer is my FAV in the line. I have all sitting in a humi at home awaiting my return and further sampling.
The ACID 1 is supposed to be Non Aeromatic (the only one in the line) but is an AMAZING smoke, probably my fave so far by Drew... But I am still sampling. :-) I like the Ambrosia line, they are supposed to be more aeromatic than ACID, but at the same time they are not as "in your face" as some of the ACIDS.

well, color me old-fashioned or something ... I just can't warm up to sweetened, flavored, aromatic cigars ... I can't stand the taste and am bothered by their aroma ... they strike me as being the cigar equivilent of menthol cigarettes or cherry blend pipe tobacco (which I know there's a huge market for, but which I have the same aversions to) ... JR was nice enough at one point to gift me with one he thought I might like and while it wasn't as bad as others I've been around, it just wasn't good if you know what I mean ...

Can't remember who it was that jokingly said recently in a post about tasting coffee, leather, chocolate, etc in cigars that to him, his cigars tasted like tobacco and he liked it that way ... me too.

apparently someone is buying them, and before Ambrosia I wasn't big on these types of cigars or any flavored cigar, but this cigar on occasion is a nice switch, the amount of flavor in them is quite intense. I never did like menthol cigarettes but hells bells if you ever want to get legally high try smoking a Kool menthol non filter, when I was 20 I smoked them once in awhile, probably kill me to smoke one today.

I'm a fan of Ambrosia and felt the need to throw in my 2 cents. I see how many don't like "flavored" cigars. I don't either. Confused? Well,I think of "flavored" as being a cigar that tastes like it was soaked in cherry cool-aid and left out to dry. The Ambrosia's have flavors that can be clearly identified. Much like a wine that tastes of vanilla, nutmeg, and pear. Just my personal take on the subject. *shrug*

Would that be all of the ambrosia line, even the mother earth?

you are quite correct, I should not have labeled it as a flavored cigar as used in its common description.

wbslngr,

Each cigar in the Ambrosia line has a diffrent taste... I quite like them all (Haven't yet tried the double corona... yet) with the exception of the "Van" or "Mint Van" (not sure if they shortened the name or if the sites are just lazy).

Just like each cigar in the Acid line is a little diffrent. You can't really lump them together.
