Quick dumb-ass question from a newbie

In checking out the prices of propylene glycol - 50/50 solutions, I got to wondering if there's any major (potentially catastrophic) difference between said solutions and non-toxic anti-freeze (propylene based). Just curious as the cost of a jug at wal-mart is less than a pint of 'juice'. Got a few "don't see why not" replies from tobaccanists and such, but no definite yays or nays.

I've been an occasional smoker for a couple years, but have just recently got started in the serious-collection game, so I'm sure there will be plenty more dumb ass questions to come (but not without diligent archive research first... I hate the smell of dead horse as much as anyone else).

FYI, you can buy PG at the drug store. I think I paid $7 for a quart, which is more PG than I'll ever use. They keep it behind the pharmacist counter, though, so you'll have to ask for it.

1 Gallon of Propylene Glycol on line with shipping and handlng: $21.69
Clear odorless liquid, not anti-freeze!

Split it with a friend and have enough for a long time.

Dang, that was quick. :-D Much appreciated on the info... i kinda figured the 50/50 bottles were ripoffs. Now I know I can keep my Garcia Y Vegas, Black and Milds, and Philly Blunts nice and fresh without it costing me a fortune!

Having smoked one once, I gotta agree about the Lone Wolfs

not being a cigar, that is ... not at all sure what way of life they might be, however ...

DaveyG would agree ... which reminds me, where the h*ll IS DaveyG these days? I haven't seen anyhing from him in a LONG ol' time ...

Damn it Soul! I'm not a chemist,I'm a doctor!

Truth is I'm not even a doctor but I occasionally play one on the BB's,stick with the straight PG and distilled H2O and stay away from the antifreeze!

If you want a source for a gallon shipped from Florida. LMK

It'd be somewhat embarrasing to be caught scrutinizing the ingredients of KY in a crowded st... oh, you meant the anti-freeze. My bad.

The way I see it, you've got the container in your hand, scrutinizing the ingredients ... you notice her looking at you, you smile and wink at her ... she walks, there's nothin' lost ... she smiles back ... 'nuf said ... where's the embarrassment???

I use Prestone in my credo but any brand of antifreeze will do. Check for sales at your local auto supply. Best thing is it'll make all you cigars taste like Lone Wolves.

You could always ask here with an innocent look "What brand of KY do you recommend?"
