It appears that there are a lot of folks around here that appreciate the military. Not just in here, though. I went out today just to "look around", and ended up buying an Onyx Reserve, a Partagas, and a AF Hemingway for under $20, just because I am in the Navy. What a wonderful world.

Some really nice cigars, I really like the Onyx Reserves!

I appreciate the Military as well, and I served in the US Navy!

I haven't gotten any discounts on Cigars but I definately need to flash that military ID around with my credit card when I am in the states...
I DID get a 10% discount at the comic and hobby shop back home!

Kind of nice to be a cop or fireman as well.

Hey deathray,
You just got me thinking again about an idea that I have wanted to get off the ground for a while. I have been enjoying cigars for about 2 years now. I just wish their was a way we could send packages to our fellow bretheren smokers who are epresently in harms way. I'm sure these guys and gals could use a little taste of home, but the question is how?? Any ideas out there ??

Rayder - I think it's just as comendable to be a fireman or policeman. My brother is a cop in Colorado and I'm damn proud of him!!

One idea would be to contact the Red Cross, they always have stuff and "Any Soldier" mail for the troops.

Actually you could send them to me (honest no bs) and I could see about sending them forward... I am in Kuwait, not exactly the front lines, but I am sure I could get them forwarded out.

The trick is getting them to the smokers and avoiding moochery.

I got some "Mayorga Coffee Infused" smokes for free with some other smokes I purchased on-line... I put two tins of them out in the "Snacko" area... Figured people might take one or two... 5 minutes later, both tins are GONE! And I DOUBT that they went to more than one ot two people. :-(

Anyway... I will look into it some more on this end and see if ther are any other suggestions.

If you wanna send them to my buddy, you could send tehm to him and have him just give a bunch away. Tell them you were referred by deathray. Or, contact the USO, they have all kinds of stuff.

*****CAUTION*****
DON'T put the city and country in the address!!!

That "APO AE #####" will get the package to the right city and Country.

By putting the city and country in the address you run the risk of it getting sent via regular mail, and returned for lack of postage or just lost...

The APO AE is the "city and State" for military mail overseas.

My local tobacconist (a friend as well) in the town I work in is always gifting me smokes as well as discounts (free cigar when purchasing a couple)
It is nice of him
I'm always gifting him cigars too and if I'm looking to purchase a cigar he doesn't have, he tends to get them for me a week later
Plus he lets me come in after closing (sometimes 10-11PM) and buy some smokes because of my crazy midnite schedule...He's usually still there until the early morning hours online..LOL
