Looks like I made a mistake by mentioning that I got some cigars elsewhere without mentioning any names. My thread got deleted by the powers that be here. Sorry if I overstepped another rule. I was just excited about what I obtained.

interesting that this site, and it's parent are quick to delete a post which mentions a good purchase elswhere, but they don't seem to take the hint and lower their price to make sure we all buy from them in the future. Wouldn't it be great if they posted a reponse to the original message and offered a great deal that was similar to the one mentioned ? I think this is what they call pipe dreams. LOL

I've never seen pipes offered ... I was going to be helpful and find a site where you could bid on pipes, but got a lot of petrochemical industry answers to my query ... or did I misunderstand and would oil and natural gas pipes be the sort you were dreaming of?

I still haven't seen to much here going for more then local retail. I regularly save 20-75% off California smoke shop retail. I don't see this place being too high. Maybe if you live in the Dominican Republic, then you might consider the prices here too high.

Just go to the CI web site and see if the bids are too much off the range. Some people overbid, but maybe where they are from it isn't overbidding. A lot of smokers from high tax states bid what would be considered high for low tax states. But it is what the market will bear.

I think I realize this now CJ.......of course I would never dare to mention a competitor here, and I thought I took great care not to...but I guess just the mere mention of actually daring to purchase from somewhere else draws the Ire of Gonz

it's not so much that you dare to mention you purchased somewhere else, it's when you say WHERE it was ... I think it's entirely understandable that CB asks that we don't mention competitor sites ... I can't imagine that any of us, in their position, would do differently ...

I never mentioned the site nor did I offer to reveal said site. What I said is that I acquired some good stuff at another site (which is not a cigar retailer) and that was all. Sorry Gonz

GranpaTex

stop inhaling.

this is a well run business and like all well run business they don't really like discussing other businesses that compete.

also this is an auction, and they start the bidding cheaply. we all set the final price, not cbid.

dweiss...I didn't mean anything derogatory by asking if English is a second language. O.K.? It is just kind of tuff sometimes to read your posts. But now that we know what is going on we promise to cut you a little slack. Notice that I said "little".

This board is just like a big family. There are brothers and sisters that you fight and argue with all the time and then there are others that go out of their way to be nice....69
