Is that a Red Fish? I have not had that happen, but have had a gator hit a Lucky 13 (casting lure) when I was a kid and just took the whole damn thing!

jd1,
yup, we were fishing out of Vidor, Tx in Cow Bayou and found a disharge from a chemical plant that for some reason was holding huge schools of shad and mullet. The gators were leaping out of the water with fish spilling out of the sides of their mouths. We counted 12 at least! After losing a few Specks to them we decided to watch and take pictures instead.
Those are some cool photos. I've also had the same experience with sharks in the Gulf. I've always said that if people could see all the sharks in the water, they wouldn't be there!
The good thing about Gators and Sharks is that Humans are not a normal part of their diet and they'd just as soon leave us alone unless provoked.

Why are you holding your bait like you are proud of it? Your catch got away...

Cool JD1, You know, my son and I encounter the same problem in ocean fishing, although the offending parties are cute little seals. They hang around the boat waiting for someone to hook a fish then swoop in and take everything but the head. Smart little beggars. They're so darn funny, though, that I can't stop laughing long enough to get mad.

...actually no. But I like watching his show with the kids. I'd really rather see the outtakes, but they will probably never show them.

Spiny, tell me you are joking about the idiot comment. Everybody loves Crock Hunter.
