Just noticed that my indian tabac cigar had some sort of polyester or fiber glass fibers about one inch in length in the end. Noticed them when I clipped the end off. Touched a flame to some of them and it curled like nylon does. Any one have any idea of what I have run into? Obviously a quality control problem. This came from one of the 5 packs I purchaced here at CB.

I think that's the new environmentally safe filler that Al Gore would like put in all tobacco products. Honestly, I've never seen anything like that.

You obviously have a cigar experiencing toxic shock sydrome. Perhaps you should switch to Tampex. Any suggestions, Esplendidochick?

I had similar problems in the past with other cigars, I pulled a string out of one the whole length of the cigar. Probably some sort of material used to bind the loose tobacco or tie it together, and ended up on the cutting table when the cigars were made. Or it could be a trail of beetle excrement.

Chances are Aberdeen is correct. I have read on other BB's of other's experiences with the same. The explanation I've heard again and again are that these are most likely from the fibers of the cloth that is used to tie the hands of leaves as they cure prior to rolling.

...hair from last pale-face me scalpemed. No, really, I never heard of this and have certianly never seen it in a cigar I've smoked. I've only smoked a couple of IT's cigars and IMHO found them to be harsh and somewhat inconsistant.
