Is everybody looking for these on the trade boards because they can't find them in their area or because you have more cigars then money and trading makes more sense then buying them?

PAMs are one of the best cigars money can buy IMO and in that of many others ... but there are quite a few other good cigars too ... so, in an effort to have a bit of variety, lots of guys will do some trading ... it's kinda like in Major League Baseball ... if two teams trade players, usually both players are pretty good or at least somewhat evenly matched ... or maybe it's a two for one or three for one deal ... same kinda thing here ...

PAMs ARE good and if you've not tried one, you really should

I'd appraise the 64 situation this way:
1) I can't find'em down here
2) I've got a humidor full of smokes I'd trade for'em
3) I've become addicted!

I was just wondering because I have found a couple of places up here with them, although I had to flirt to let the lady let me purchase more then 1 at a time, and was trying to figure out if it made sense to purchase them just to do trades. But I know the prices are a bit jacked at about 18/stick.

18 bucks a stick? Ouch...I never paid that much. Usually I get em at about half that, or a little more...unless of course, I trade for them :) And Steve is right (believe it or not), variety is the spice of life.

I rarely part with them, but like the OpusX, I won't get gouged on them either. Just keep looking until you find a decent price. $18 is way too much. A decent replacement at almost half the cost: Bucanero Full Sail. I have a few of these aging to see how they compare to my PAMs.
Smoking a BFS right out of the box was a most enjoyable experience and aging should make them even better.

defcon ... I prefer the PAMs, JJ prefers PANs ... it's not which of us you believe, 'cause we're both pretty smart, cool guys ... how they taste to you is what counts ... Best way to decide is to try them both ... taste is a pretty subjective thing and no two of us are identical ...

Smoked a PAM in NY recently. It did NOT knock my socks off. It was a good high quality smoke. For my money (leaving me $12 bucks to buy a steak at Sizzler) I'll stick with the Excalibur Maduros.

I love the PAMs, PANs and usually have no trouble getting them for $8-$15 depending on size. 2 days ago my shop had 5 boxes (5 sizes), I stopped in today and all that was left was 2 Corona Nat.($8.75) so I bought them.

That Bucanero Full Sail is an excellaent rival to the PAMs, IMHO.

Barry: Agreed with the Bucanero Full Sails....yummy! That's a good cigar and compared to the higher priced cigars today, it is worth it!
Just my opinion, but before any of you disagree, please try one.

Last week I got both my PAM and Bucanero cherries popped. Two excellent smokes that made look for one of my old roach clips. But guys, I gotta tell ya that the HdM double corona/double maduros are very competitive. If you haven't tried one of those you're missing something special. IMHO sometimes price, hype and availability color our perceptions.
