Is the Cameroon a fairly new wrapper? It is obviously gaining a well deserved gain in popularity, much like the current craze of box-pressing. Also, is it me, or are they significantly more fragile than other wrappers?

The Cameroon wrapper has been around for quite awhile. In my opinion, it's the best wrapper available, followed by Rosado and Maduro. It does seem to be a little delicate.

Cameroons have been around for a while. Africian leaves. I agree they are one of the best out there. And
they are VERY delicate. I had the chance to pick up 10
Partagas 150 AA's. THat wrapper is 18 years old..well now its 23. Talk about fragile. But these sticks are sooooooooooooo good.

these wrappers used to be fairly common, H. Upman wrapped all their cigars in it, then the boom and goodbye Cameroon. Now they are available again in decent numbers. I love this wrapper too, even around a so so cigar the wrapper makes the smoke worth it, like the Flor Cameroons. Wasn't too impressed with the raw tobacco taste but the wrapper made it decent, and hopefully much better in future after aging.

I agree with all post...the Cameroon wrapper is a wrapper of choice in my consideration of some cigars. I like the taste it offers. However, since my jump from Cohiba Red Dots to Mayorga I have been looking for a decent Cameroon cigar. I too like the La Unica Cameroon series....very mild.
