I love Perfection #5. But on a given day anything with a LONE or a DON in the name will do.

Padron regular maduro line, fairly priced, great construction, and great flavor. El Rico Habano for full bodied smokes.

This is a MUST TRY cigar. This isn't a smoke that gets replicated by another brand. There are hallmark cigars out there that in my opinion HAVE overshadowed the Cuban stigma. The Opus X is one of them. The Padron PAM is another. The Ashton VSG, the Fuente Hemmingway, Bucanero Full Sails and the CAO Extreme maduros are excellent smokes that most people can get and enjoy. I just don't think you can substitute another smoke for the Opus X.

The above mentioned smokes should be experienced. I don't think they're everyday smokes, but you should be able to work one of those in at least once a week.

I know I'm forgetting many more decent cigars but the ones mentioned are the ones that others are judged by. You're only going around once on this "big blue marble", enjoy the best that it has to offer. You deserve it!

Good Dr. I agree with your list except I would substitute the Oliva O Maduro for the CAO.
Well stated. Clark

There are several cigars I like enough to say that on a price/performance basis, I'd prefer to have one of them instead of an OpusX ... in no particular order, I'd go for a:

PAM, Bucanero Full Sail, Black Pearl, CAO Odyssey, CAO Brazilian Samba, CAO L' Anniversaire Maduro Belicoso, Onyx Reserve Maduro Mini Bel, HdM Prensado Oscuro, La Escepcion, Ashton VSG, Perdomo Reserve Maduro, Olivia "O" maduro or the house cigar at a local store near me that I can only compare to an Olivia O maddie or a Bucanero Full Sail ...

I Am Sam's list is a ditto, and agree with Meanie, except have not had a Bucanero yet! Must try one and I will!

Charlie

PS I like the Opus line, just a little too damn proud of them and their price reflects it!

you really did enjoy it ??? I know they have a dog rocket rep, but I've smoked a few ... I didn't think they were bad, but I didn't think they were good either ... I thought they were totally blah, bland and flavorless ... since I favor full bodied cigars, I leave the Lone Wolfs alone

Well, it wasn't like the cigars you know I smoke. But I smoked it on a nice night, with my girlfriend's dad and uncle, after about a week or so without smoking any cigars. It wasn't bad, I had no complaints, and I can only compliment the blend, burn, and construction.

So yeah...I guess I did enjoy it.

so, a week without cigars makes a Lone Wolf seem good, eh? ... I think maybe there's a C&W hit tune in there somewhere ... very reminiscent of the girls getting prettier at closing time ...

Ahh...that's not my bag baby. And it's unfortunate since it seems country music rules the radio in my area.

As a rule I generally don't like C&W,for the exception of Bluegrass, but the Dixie Chicks are changing my mind. Their special on TV was XLNT. X

Hey,

I wanted to try one of those Bucanero but you guys keep on talking them up and now the prices on Cigarbid are now too rich for my blood. Here are some examples your dirty work:

Please start on adding LONE WOLF and Hamilton House to your fav list.
