I found an ad for these last night and was wondering if they may be worth a try. According to the ad, "This new powerhouse from the Eiroa family and Rancho Jamastrán went head-to-head against Havana's popular Jose Piedras, Paratagas Series D #4s, Upmann Connoisseurs and El Rey del Mundo Robustos. In a blind test - no identifying bands - of 14 regular cigar smokers like you and me, these Camachos beat the Cubans 11 times! These stellar Hondurans won on pure power, flavor and body, thanks to Jamastrán's proprietary Corojo filler and binder - and the unique new Camacho Habano wrapper. ASCer Irving Gold, who administered the blind test says: "What can I say? It's clear that these cigars (Camacho Havanas) are simply great smokes! And for the money, I just don't think you can go wrong". I checked the ASC site and found a couple of favorable reviews. Any tried these?

I Have not tried or heard of these yet.. Must be New..
I have yet to smoke a Honduran Cigar that could even compete with a true Cuban Cigar... Now there are a Few Nic's out there that come close in my book.. but that is me!!!

Nope can't help. But I think their other cigar, the Camacho Corojo is supposed to be even stronger. Hmmm. Maybe nobody has actually survived the experience yet.

I have read some mixed reviews on the JR BB. Some thought they were awesome and others thought they were harsh?

I picked one of these up at the local shop today and smoked it during the game. Nice looking, and very impressive smoke. It is definately full flavor and not harsh at all. This is a cigar that will be incredible with some age, but great now too. As for the analogy to a cuban.....It was a powerful cigar (not for the faint of heart) but it did not resemble a cuban in flavor....not even a little. I guess that is just a way they decided to stir interest in it.....which is disappointing....if they think the magic of a Cuban lies solely in its punch, they are missing the boat. I will but it again. I believe it is made by the La Fontana/Bacharrat folks, oddly enough.

christian is sending me 10 of his private stock. one cannot buy these on the market. they are suposed to be even STRONGER than the havana or corojo blend of the camacho. it pays to have connections!

These are available at certain places. The Camacho Havana seems to be a bit cheaper than the Camacho Corojo.

I participated in one of the blind taste tests (in Windsor, Ontario). I preferred the Camacho Havana was to the Corojo. It was not as strong but still very flavorful. As for comparing to Cubans, the Camacho Corojo was better than the Partagas SD4 I smoked side by side. However, the Partagas was hopelessly plugged. Plus, it was purchased from the store that morning so it was probably quite young.

The Havana was compared to a HDM Churchill. I preferred the HDM to the Camacho but the price difference swayed me to the Camacho.

All in all, these cigars are both worth the money. I have a handful of Corojo's and Havana's that I'm going to age. I'm seeing the Havana's in quite a few stores now are in the $3-$4 range. The Corojo's are a little more expensive and harder to find.
