What goes best with a good cigar? I prefer Jepson brandy, smooth and not too sweet, anyone else?

Believe it or not ... the best drinks I've found that go well with cigars are Coke, Fruit Jucie ... and a good cup of coffee.

The Coke and fruit juices will help in cleansing the palate between puffs ... and you will get more flavor out of your cigars.

I find that alcohol deadens my taste buds (along with my brain), and I don't really enjoy that premium puro as much ... if I even remember smoking it ... LOL!

A good cup of coffee with a cigar is like frosting on a good cake ...

That Slimboli is such a kidder. The man guzzles Smirnoff Ice by the case while he tokes on his stogies and drops ashes on his cat head...LOL

Me,I don't know it's just like cigars whatever I'm in the mood for.One of my favorite combos though is a good sippin' tequila and a VSG.Mmmmmmmmmmm...Oh and the buzz aint bad either.

My favorite is Port (Vintage--if I can afford it), then a stout dark beer is right behind my Port. A dark coffee, or cappuccino is good too. It's been my experience that having something sweet with a cigar is a bad combination, but that's just my own experience.

I've had the Schafly's Scotch Ale...that is great but hard to find. JJ, I'm able to get a litre of the Balvenie at the Windsor duty free (the tunnel to Canada) for $32. So I've always got a litre of it hanging around. :)

Knob Creek or Basil Haydens with ice. Ice water with a lemon twist (This one is probably the best because it cleanses the palate).

I'm with X on this...Cuba Libre's by the picther! Any thing with "Glen" in the title, Coconut rum with crushed ice, or Drambuie and ice.

Those are the drinks that are on hand when I choose to imbibe.

Double espressos and iced coffees are pretty damn good too!

eleltea: you got me there! Most everything sweet I've had with a cigar has been a bad combination. Rookie mistake.

Irish Coffee is good, Jack Daniels, Makers Mark and a good Vodka martini (no vermouth) are also great to mix with a cigar depending on the type of cigar!!!!

Naked girls go with anything!

I know it's a little late at night, but I'm thinking a splash of Pinot Noir would go very nicely with the last three inches of this Perdomo I've got burning ... thanks for making me think about it ...

Hello friends,

Question: I really enjoy a dark stout brew (like Guinness) with a cigar, Port is my favorite so far. My dilemma (sp?) is that I’d really like to try other alcoholic drinks with my cigars, but in my younger days in the Army, I drank a lot of cheap hard alcohol straight (got sick one too many times). Ever since then, I’ve had difficulty bringing myself to try a drink “straight”. I would like to try drinks that I’ve read so many of you mentioned. I guess what I want to know are any suggestions for someone like me. I’d like to try a fine Whiskey, but I’m not sure if my stomach will handle it. I guess a smooth drink would be best. Any advice would be great.

Oh yeah, Go Lakers!

Here's some suggestions for sipping whiskey to accompany your cigars ... I think any of these should sit well on your stomach.

Scotch: Abelour, MacAllen or Glenfiddich single malts
Irish Whiskey: Bushmills or Jameson single malts
Bourbon: Makers Mark
