Guess so, MG also took 14 Peg Legs on Dec 15 for $6.50 each. I have to defer to BMW on whether that brand holds its value, market corner or not. Worth watching the winners though.

... probably a retailer who doesn't have a clue on how to get an account with Bucanero.

Slim,
That was my first thought but I'm thinking more like someone that can't get them as a retailer but is going to sell them anyway.

I don't understand.

As a retailer, all he has to do is call them up and order them. Bucanero will rarely turn a small (brick and mortar) retailer down, unless they are strictly internet sales ...

Anyone can sell anything on the internet without being a retailer. Some of the BB's actually allow you to advertise and sell smokes on them. JMHO...

Oh ... I think I understand now.

You mean that this guy is just an 'average Joe' (not a retailer) who is grabbing them up to sell them on the internet at auctions and the like ...

... did it sink in? LOL!

Guys ... just an observation I'm able to make after reading the threads here and being able to remember stuff ... MG of Dodge City, KS is one of the (newer but rapidly becoming regular) posters on this board and is not a re-seller of cigars ... as it turns out, he's a minister ...

I just did a trade with him and even threw in a Bucanero. I guess he didn't need it.

Guys -- Where's the Love....

I am a regular buyer and bidder, and recently a poster and a trader. I also am a minister and run a small guitar shop. I am also a Bucanero Ambassador -- a buddy in Wichita, Kansas gave me the first one he bought at Old Towne Cigars... and I was hooked. When they surfaced here I bid and bought. I also have purchased a couple of boxes elsewhere at "brick and mortar" stores.

As far as the buying of the Bucs here... afik before CI listed them, I bought below retail. I also bought for my own enjoyment and will place these, including the Peg Legs which I think are one of the best of the line, in my cabinet humi to age for later use.

I think the possibilities for Bucaneros are 1) They will become hot and popular in which case I bought wisely. 2) They will change in the post Don Douglas era (I thought I read something about him quitting the business?). In which case I bought great cigars before the change. 3) They will not be able to make it since they are very small, in which case I bought some of the best cigars I have smoked in a great while.

These will likely not best the last bucaneros listed, and I have what I need for the next year or so.

Great cigars guys, I don't regret a dime.

As far as me being a retailer... Well, my wife might agree that I should become one, since I have quite a few maturing in the various humis.... However I just am a cigar smoker enjoying this site and some great cigars...

Would hope you'd wish me well in that. I certainly wish you the best and am not irritated at all the times I have been overbid on stuff others bought.

Mike ... I have a feeling that Bucanero will be around for a long time, since the tobacco in the cigars you are smoking was purchased three to five years ago. ;^)

And, with all the prestigious awards they have won over the years ... I'm sure they are here to stay!

Mile,

Not a prob. My curiosity got piqued because I saw someone bid (not necessarily overbid) on all of a certain type smoke.
And if you choose to overbid, the horse gets it!

CJBully, you win a prize ... your response above makes you the first to spell "piqued" correctly, in as long as I can remember

No guns -- but maybe some 'gars!

I agree on the Bucs being top of the line and I hope they are in for the long term!

LOL about the guns ...

I agree about the Bucs and have said so for at least a year, long before there was any other mention of them here ... as recently as Labor Day of this year, the reaction I got from pretty much everyone was "huh?" but now, with good reason, they're high on almost everyone's list ...
