What is your opinion on this brand?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...Gurkha is a great cigar. I have tried most of their many Gurkha lines, and I have yet to be disappointed. If you like fuller bodied complex smokes, they are definitely worth a try.

Try carrying it in your shirt pocket instead. :)

You're right; I'm a hypocrite! Just ask my local shop - one day I'm cussing high-dollar cigars, rummaging through the bargain bin (like yesterday!) then next trip I'm asking when they might get Opus or Anejos in!

defcon- search the board history -I asked this question before...

I got a box of Expedition Robusto before the hype
for under $50... very good smoke.. not worth the
price now..

I hope reviving an old thread is ok. I just had a Gurkha last night that was flavored with the Louis XIII congnac. Is that how all the gurkhas are? I thought the smoke was pretty good, but actually was not crazy about the flavoring. I guess if you're going to flavor a smoke, then Louis is a good choice...but I don't think I am crazy about flavored smokes.

Anyway, I am curious to know if all Gurkhas are this way.

No, the added "fruitcake" flavor is not common to Gurkha, and judging by the ones I've tried is not, IMHO, needed. They're have a pretty interesting flavor already.

Good to know. I have read good reviews on the board and was surprised to find it flavored.

Expedition line is not flavored..

Prices way overboard here now IMHO..

Have tried a diverse range of their cigars all the way to their Louis XIII Royal Salute. Very well made and good premium smoke. Price is indicative of every cigar we smoke. Have had many expensive that don't warrant the price and many inexpensive that someone missed the ball on and sold for practically nothing. Enjoy them... I give them a thumbs up!
