so a new cigar store opened up near me. i was excited. my daughter told me my wife didn't want me to know about it ( i have this little problem with buying more than i need). so i finally get a chance to go in. big humidor. looks nice. i walk in. it's lined with western red cedar. it smells like a closet in a dude ranch. i mean strong. i looked around for a moment and left. bummer. he has some nice brands and good prices. so how do you tell someone that the thousands of dollars worth of humidor they just built is really, really wrong. at least the cigars will soon have a nice strong peppery cedar flavor.

Well, I wouldn't begin the first sentence with "hey, idiot!!" ...
I'd try to give him an excape hatch ... tell him his contractor must've made a big mistake and you've noticed it and want to call it to his attention before it mushrooms into a bigger problem than it already is ... then without being at all condescending, be straight-forward and tell him what the problem is and why he needs to fix it ASAP ...

Maybe you could ask him why he chose western red cedar over spanish cedar...since you were unaware of the qualities of the western as it relates to cigars?...

Yep, I say you should definitely say something. I'd hate to see all his stock, and his business, die. Just don't approach him like a "know-it-all" -- "You probably know more than me, but I've always heard...."

I think Echick nailed it. Ask him in the form of a question.
Echick, as always, your gentle touch commands obedience.
(that's a great line from the movie Gladiator... one of my alltime favorite movies)

Wow. Sounds like some kind of S&M/Bondage thing going on between Jeffersonn & EChick??
I agree with Barry, and by the way, I've got some free closet space for storage :)
