What fine smokes will you bring the New Year in with? I plan to enjoy an Ashton Aged Maduro No. 60, a CAO Millennium Maduro, and a La Escepcion Series III Manuel Zavala. Of course since I'll probably be asleep by 10:30 PM tonight, I guess I won't technically be seeing the New year in at all. Story of my life.

Mr. Mean, what do you thing of the Graycliff? I've smoked several Chairmans and Pirates and LOVE them both. I bit pricey, but worth it for "special" occasions.
Come to think of it, I have a Chairman in my humi that may be calling my name tonight!!

JR's plans for New Year remind me of the first New Year when the wife and I were in London. We both fell asleep on the couch, and when we heard fireworks outside, we woke up, said "Happy New Year", kissed, and went right back to sleep.

Cusano Robusto.

Wondering whether Rayder will be indulging (he probably has to work in that beefed up non-contrasting traffic racer -- oops, I mean chaser).

First off, JonR, the Anejo IS as good as you've heard! I would smoke one of them, but saving them til they get a little age on them. Smokes for tonight and tomorrow include, but are not limited to: PAN and PAM Not sure which size), Opus x xXx, ISOM Partagas Serie D #4, and definitly a Short Story in there somewhere. Happy New Year all!

You've all made my life so much more interesting with your stories, jokes, and your collective cigar knowledge that you've passed on to me.

I want to thank you for your ability to pick me up when I'm down...and to especially thank you all for your kind words during this tough time for me and my family since I lost my dad!

Cigarbid and the family of friends here are special to me and I want to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy, and prosperous (the market will be back) New Year!

I'll be enjoying an AF Hemingway masterpiece...

Cheers!

I just finished a Bucanero el Capitan Reserva Maduro, the first of the evening ...

... I may fire up my last Work of Art Maduro (aged three years) as it gets closer to the new year!

I've also got a few habanos I've been eye-balling ...

Morning = a corojo torp of unknown parentage (it was very strong)

Afterlunch = A small, but mighty ISOM (damn good, too)

After Dinner = Bucanero Full Sail (burning now and absolutely divine

Midnite = larger ISOM (never had two in one day before ... mmmmm)

Happy New Year to all. Like SteveS said in another post, I didn't want to smoke a great one for fear of no longer having it, so I ended up smoking a CAO Odyssey on the porch with a friend, who was smoking an ISOM Punch he got in Bahrain. The combined smoke of the two was a real pleasant aroma.

My friend Steve came over with a couple of Graycliff torps, (vintage something). White and gold band. Real nice but too pricey.

Had a fifth of Bacardi 151 (one of my favs). Not all of the rum. We wanted to live to see 2003.

Read the forum, bought some sticks, went to bed about 10:30. Turned the T.V. off and fell asleep at 11:47.
Glad to see you all made it without me. Looking forward to talking cigars with you all in the comming year.

Tomorrow morning I have to go help Steve throw out his 32" T.V.

Happy New Year to all. Anthony

Donna wasn't feeling too well last nite and we went to bed early. Before dinner I had a LGC Double Corona nattie on the patio. I know it's a good cigar, but I really prefer LGC maddies. Happy NEW YEAR!

JR, you know the kinds of cigars I like. Would I like the La Excepcion?

I think so, Lee. With the caveat that you will need to age them awhile. I particularly like the Manuel Zavala. The truth is, though I like the MNCs better and they're cheaper.

Good! I have most of a box of MNC Double-C's in the 'gloo. Maybe I should break one out for my morning smoke this fine New Year's Day. But this is the wrong thread. Slim has the New Year's day smoke thread. See ya over there.

I spent New Years with my ol’ Army buddies at Ft Knox…

In order:
-1941 Pre-Embargo Gurkha, w/Makers Mark (Smooth combo)
-PAM, w/Makers Mark (ditto)
-Gurkha Perfecto #2 w/Coors Light (you can guess how I was feeling at this point by my drink selection!)
-Oliva Grand Maduro w/lord only knows, I can’t remember!

Overall, I had a great time like many of you did.

Happy New Year All, Joel

I had in my humidor and purchased recently a selection of cigars I was planning to light up for New Years Eve/New Years Day. Some of the selection I was toying with was

Two Opus X's Sort of a Cornoa Size
AF 8-5-8
La Gloria Cubana Sieres R #4
Punch Champion
Indian Tabac Cammeron Legend Gorilla.

Those were the six I had planned for those two days. What did I smoke....

New Years Eve late afternoon my one and only cigar for that was the La Gloria Cubana, and On New Years itself I just wasn't in the mood. I've been trying to get rid of my Acid Def Sea's I smoked one of the three I have left and later on I had a 5 Vegas Double Corona. A very unimpressive selection compared to what I had lined up.

Lowman, we actually smoked 1941s. The place where I purchase them were out of the 1950s on Monday, so I had to dig into my stash, that I was saving (not that they need anymore aging). But, the Gurkha was outstanding, lasted 2+ hours, and finished very well, could’ve used a roach clip to finish it up. Not quite as full-flavored as I expected, but it was very smooth and rich.
