I am trying to find a cigar comparable to the Canary Island Napa Reserve. I ordered a bundle of Vargas Teneguia Corona (which is from the Canary Islands) and two boxes of Gloria Palmera Lonsdale (ditto). I know CA rated the latter with an 85, but I don't know if I trust their ratings. The Gloria Palmera uses almost the same leaves (except they add some filler leaves from Brazil, and the wrapper is different) as the Napa Reserve, so I'm hoping to get that similar flavor. Can anyone out there give me a little insite on these two brands?

I had purchased a box of Gloria Palmara Double Corona's. I paid $25.00 for the box, list was $175.00 or so. I figured why not, they can be gifts for the buddies if there were awful. To my surprise I like them very much. Nice Medium body smoke. I have read and agree the Gloria Palmera is the strongest of the Canary island cigars. I have smoked the Teneguia's and they are good. Too mild for me but good. Try them and make your own conclusion. I hope you didn't pay over $30.00 for the bundles.

One of the worst dogrockets I have ever had!...Way too mild (like sucking air) for me....Almost as bad as the Next Generation (by Jeff Uzezian, son of Avo) that I had about a year ago..Both of them are turds (IMHO of course) :)

Rookie, What do you really think? You don't have to pull any punches. We're all adults here.

Who was that? Wanyrookie? I got a good chuckle out of that ... I paid $16 for the Gloria's (my taste buds still haven't 'burned out' yet, by the way) and $19 for the Vargas ... both at auctions. Yes ... I will be my own judge, but I DO appreciate the opinions of my 'elders' .... :-p

LMAO...I'm at work and my commander came over from his office to see what I was laughing so much at...That's why I like this site/forum and the regulars...You can say what you feel (most of the time unless it's about "overbidding" or some other topic that has been covered (dead horse syndrome) in the past numerous times..Then you have to face the wrath of Wany...Just my opinion
