I'm pretty sure I've been stiffed on a trade. I'ts been over 2 months since i sent my end and he hasn't responded to my e-mails for over a month. I'd hate to see him burn anyone else. Have I given him enough time?

Let's beat him with large chunks of dead rotten beaten horse flesh!

I think 2 months is a considerable amount of time, unless he's in a coma or something.

You have been more than patient. 2 months is enough time to do whatever must be done to hold up his end. Or anything else!

Jazz, You got stiffed! Two months is plenty of time. Heck I feel guilty if I do a trade and I wait just a week to send. Sorry.

Damn...two months? I felt bad today saying I couldn't send out my end of the trade until tomorrow. Then again, I am deeply affected by the proverbial 'Catholic guilt' thing, so perhaps I am a poor measure.

Tell us who he is, both to protect future traders and (though less so) because human beings love gossip.

I'd have to agree with John. It's too bad, but the 10% rule holds true. Unfortunate, but the guy has stiffed you.

I didn't know this guy when I agreed to the trade. He actually e-mailed me and proposed a trade. I should have known something was fishy...

jazzman,
I did a search for this guy and came up with nothing. I think I am familiar with who most of the posters are that are from the Houston area and he dosen't sound familiar. I was just going to ask how you two got connected.

Sounds like a troll.

troll? - what is troll?

Maybe we can make a black list that we can look to and add if people screw one of us over.

Give out his mailing address. I'll send him an envelope full of my ass hair and toe nail clippings. Maybe some one else can mail him some used toilet paper. We can redefine the term "junk mail".

Anyone doing this should spend the rest of their life allowed only to smoke White Owls, drink instant coffee, and "read" old Penthouse mgazines!!!

After the great experience that I had with the Xmas Cigar Exchange (received way more than I sent),it really sucks to hear someone would do this to you.

Hope you didn't lose too much Jazzman. Lesson learned: Don't trade with a handle you haven't seen before. I've been posting here about a year. Pretty much fall into the hopelessly addicted category. I have never met any of you and yet....it would bother me to be vilified here. It's a strange internet phenomenon. I guess it's not so strange to be honorable though. At least I hope not.

I thought the same thing as X as soon as I read 'craney'.No matter, post his name and address here and on H.P.,which unfortunately had an influx of lurking wackos go active after JR shut down. But two months, man are you waiting for this guy to return your credit cards too?

And ask for references. No one has asked me for one in over three years, still I'd respect rather than take offence someone who did so today.

I sent an assortment for him to try--nothing great. His end was supposed to be 10 Arture Fuente Curly Head Deluxe Maduros...No great loss. Learned a great lesson. Don't trade with strangers unless you do a background check first...

I'm in the process of transacting my 1st trade right now. I have no background to check. My trade partner will make out very well. Sometimes you should take the chance. I think a "Blacklist" of known offenders is cool though. The only problem is who will maintain it?

I could maintain it. I could make out a form like we had for the cigar exchange and I can make the form post to a webpage for us to see and use.

I have a cousin in N.Y. (aka "The Praying Mantis") who will gladly solve this problem for you. He is real handy with a cattle prod, lol. Seriously, put him/her out there for all of us to get a piece of.

Why don't you post his mailing address. Then we can all send letters telling him what we think of him.

Plus if anyone lives or visits the area they can pay him a visit.

Here is a list of bad traders from another cigar forum, that one guy set-up in his 'profile' ...

Make sure you have your sound on ... this is too funny, and pretty clever!

Jazz, don't feel bad about "outing" a guy under these circumstances. Just post the facts and so others can beware. It's the right thing to do. Also, I'm sorry to hear you got stiffed. It's not worth the effort of retaliation with lawyers and stuff, but e-mail me for some advice. baumfr aol com

X - I seriously doubt it was McRaney.

Before you ever publish anyone's name and address on a public forum, check with the forum's sponsor. They may wish not to have their forum used for that purpose. If there is a mistake, issues of slander and/or libel may surface.

Agree with others here...The scumbag isn't McRaney...He lives near me (not Texas) and from what I've heard, a respected member of "another" board...Haven't met him though but know several that have
