ISOMs and proper humidity

Maybe some of you who have had luck getting ISOMs shipped to you can shed some light on this. I've checked with numerous online tobacconists shipping ISOMs to the US. I inquire about refunds for seized product and most will refund with a fax proof of seizure. However, all I've checked do not ship their cigars to the US under proper humidification and all state that it takes from 7-14 days maybe longer because of tightened security. I don't see how this is acceptable. Would any of you take your entire cigar inventory and put it outside for 2 weeks without proper humidification?! I've been burned once like this but not again. You cannot tell me that cigars shipped to the US without properly sealed bags or sealed in shrinkwrap or placed in humi pouches are going to be anything near in quality to what they would be like buying and smoking them on the same day. You simply cannot recover a cigar's oils after they are gone and the cigar is dry. You can humidify the crap out of it and all you do is turn a dry premium ISOM dog rocket into a humid one.

So, with my ranting behind me, have any of you dealt with a dealer that takes humidification into consideration when shipping to the US? What are the prices like?

Rick made a good point about the oils in a cigar and I was simply spouting something I read. Maybe oils really do stay in these smokes as evident by those cigars that sell for mucho $$$ at auctions; cigars in excess of 10-20-30 years old and they supposedly are the best there is. I'll just continue to wait until my ISOMs come around but it sure sucks having to wait.

Thanks for the info Rick and I'll give one of those sites a try.

I was wondering why I had a set of car keys with the CDs Rick sent me. I thought he was trying to tell me these CDs would be the keys to unlocking the happiness I would receive as a result of listening to them. I took the CDs and gave the keys to the kids...

I know someone (friend) that works for US Customs (he just completed training). I will get the "EXACT" criteria for search and seizure of cigars, as well as how to "properly" ship to US. I will post as soon as I get the details. I have some idea already, but I will post full findings later. Until then, send all of your ISOMs to ME for safe keeping.
