I went to a large cigar store in Southern NH and found Perdomo Yellow Jackets. They are a line of cigars with yellow bands and look just like many of the Perdomo 2 line, but are only about $3.00 ea. They all have maduro wrappers and I bought a few. I wonder if they are seconds or made just for this store. Nothing found on the net when I looked for info. Anyone?

That sounds like the perdomo 2 maduro. The perdomo 2 naturals have red bands while the maduros have yellow. Should say perdomo 2 right on the band. Unless I'm missing something.

I've tried one,the Queen. A dark Perfecto that to me tasted like it has potential, given some Dor time. It was just a tad sharp and young tasting,IMO. X

I believe the 'yellow banded' one is the maduro ...

http://www.perdomocigars.net/perdomo2.html

The Perdomo2 is a very limited blend of Cuban-seed tobaccos grown in Esteli, Nicaragua. The filler and binder crop have been specially aged since 1994 and the rich, genuine Cameroon wrapper is subjected to two fermentation periods.

The Perdomo² is packed with rich, spicy and complex flavors delivering heavy Cuban overtones with a sweet, earthy aroma.

Available in five unique sizes, the Perdomo2 is box-pressed in the tradition of pre-embargo Cuba.

The Perdomo2 is now also available in a Maduro (Ecuadorian) wrapper, delivering full-bodied taste.

I had one of the ones I bought yesterday and they taste just like the yellow banded Perdomo 2 maduro that I had this summer. Decent construction and draw. They actually just say Yellow Jacket by Perdomo on the band. Good smoke and a great deal even if they are seconds. They do have names like Queen Bee and Stinger. Worth a look I guess if you like Perdomo.

I finally found one site that have them on the net by typing in 'Yellow Jacket by Perdomo' on Google!

Here's what was said about them:

The Yellow Jacket is a hand made from the folks at Tabacalera Perdomo. A toothy maduro wrapper surrounds a wonderful blend of complex Nicaraguan & Honduran tobaccos. Well balanced with a little sting best describes this full flavored smoke. The icing on the cake is the price. A terrific cigar at a great price.

They have the Yellow Jacket Black Hornet, 5 1/2 x 48 - Maduro Wrapper - Box of 20 ...

Yellow Jacket Queen, 6 1/4 x 54 - Maduro Wrapper - Box of 20 ...

Yellow Jacket Stinger, 5 x 50 - Maduro Wrapper - Box of 20 ...

Yellow Jacket Worker, 5 x 50 Belicoso - Maduro Wrapper - Box of 20

Prices are reasonable, ranging from $45.99 to $49.99, with all the singles under $3.00 ...

These look interesting. I like the Perdomo line. These might be something fun to try. I posted a picture on the Picture Post for a look at the line. Different from the yellow band Perdomo2.
Might take a while to get posted after Gonz has a look.

Maybe we can lobby to get these offered on Cbid.

I had one of the Perdomo 2 Yellow bands yesterday and it was a nice medium bodied and spicy cigar that held a nice long ash (for those who like this feat) but had a rather tough draw! You really had to "suck" to draw the little guy. Size was about 5 1/2 X 48 and was a beautiful little cigar!

All in all, it was an enjoyable cigar!
