I usually don't post any political responses, and I do support Bush and I'm not naive to believe that there is not political hyjinks on both sides. But let's keep in mind that we are not the only country on this planet with nukes and the will to use them. The statement Einstein made holds more true now than ever before and I paraphrase: "I don't know how the 3rd world war will be fought, but I do know that the 4th world war will be fought with stick and stones."
War is a terrible thing and nobody wins because lives are lost, especially innocent lives. Yet, it is a fact of life especially if we expect to keep our freedom and defend ourselves; You cannot believe that you will be able to hold on to your freedom without a fight, especially with an enemy bent on your destruction. It's not happened before and sadly, it never will. That's the cost of freedom. And I support our men and women in arms as much as any other person out there. I also believe that I have my freedoms because blood was shed for it 227 years ago and many times since, and I also know that to keep my freedoms blood will be shed again--that is sad but a true fact, and if people think that evil can be negotiated with, they are sadly mistaken. If someone is hell-bent on your distruction, try negotiating with them--you will either die or be imprisoned by them or worse, forced to live under their idealogies--I do not choose to live under any type of political system other than the one I'm under now. With that said, I pray that nukes will not be dropped because when that happens, we will not be the only country dropping them. Sounds like a doomsday nuclear holocaust rant but now more than ever before, we may get to be a part of history that we will all regret. Conventional war yes, nukes no, yet I know we will drop them because we have before. Nuclear warfare will not leave much if anything for any person, in any country, including ours, to enjoy. OK, now let the arrows fly, they pale in comparison to what could be.
