All right baseball fans, it is getting closer and closer, pitchers and catchers report in the next week to MLB Spring Training! Now there will be good reason to read the Sports Pages again!

Can't wait to see our defending MLB champions, California Angels hit the field! They should have added a quality number one starter and this could hurt them this season! Colon would have been a great add to Angels staff or Javier Vasquez!

Play ball!!!!!

Patiently waiting to have my hopes crash and burn once again as the Astros fail to reach the second round of the playoffs.

Meanie, this is the year the Astros get over the hump. Hopefully Kent comes thru and no more injuries to pitchers...

I'm real interested in seeing him take over second base and seeing Biggio in the outfield.
And where the hell is Billy Doran?!

My mid-winter cabin fever blues can only be relieved by the arrival of spring training. Well a vacation to a tropical island paradise would work also but that ain't happening.

Baseball is and will always be my #1 sports love ... I used to be a regular at the BigA when I lived in OC and have been regular at the A's and Giants since moving to the Bay Area ...

But, as usual, I'll spend more far more time at non-professional games that at the two of them put together ... two of my sons will be playing in an adult league this year, so it'll be just like the old little league days ... each weekend will bring a decision as to whose ballgame to go watch ...

You 'stro's fans bring a memory or two to the surface for me with your talk of Biggio moving to the outfield to make room for Kent ... it seems only a short time ago he was a rookie catcher bumping one of my all-time personal favorites off the Houston roster ... which of you guys will be the first to name the catcher whose spot Craig took back then??? (hint: he wore #14 and was the Astro catcher in what some have called the greatest baseball game ever played ... '86 playoffs against the Mets)

mmmm beeeer.(more e's please) You should have known I would get that with my Billy Doran reference. He's the one who taught Biggio second base. That guy was a defensive machine.

I have a book on that great 86 game against the Mets that is called The Greatest Game Ever Played ... I've still got the game on video tape ... it really might have been the greatest and was probably the best game I ever saw ... that whole series agains the Mets was great (as was the RedSox/Angel series ... easily the best post-season of all time ...

I love baseball ... guess it shows, huh? ... you too, I can tell.

Just returned from the garage and thoroughly enjoyed a Cusano Selection.
I remember going to my Dad's late on Sept 25, 1986. I walked in and saw him sitting there at the kitchen table with a piece of paper in front of him. I grabbed a beer from the fridge and a cigar from the box on the table. I sat down and he pushed the piece of paper toward me. I picked it up and saw that it was a score card from the Astros game he went to from a ticket a customer gave him.
**** WENT AND SAW MIKE SCOTT THROW A NO HITTER AND DIDN'T TAKE ME!!!!!
