I was rooting around in one of my dors' last night, and found what I thought was a 5 Vegas. It was a Vegas de Guayaquil 7x48 nat. double corona. I had it for over a year. Haven't got any idea where I got it from. I like large ring sizes, so I didn't smoke it up to soon. When I pulled the band off, it wasn't a "Cinco". It wasn't too bad! Just wish I knew where I got it from!

I know they're from Guayaquil Ecuador. Don't know who makes them or where I can see what else they have. Surfed the web a little, but to no avail.

Anyone have any thoughts, comments or ideas on these?

thanks, Anthony

I believe I may have a couple somewhere in my humidor too. I remember smokeing one last summer with a friend. It was a mild bodied, creamy smooth smoke, easy draw, and burned quickly, if I remember correctly. Also, it came in a silver cheaply made tubo.

As far as a source, CI did carry them at one time, and I remember seeing them on CB auction in 5 packs last spring.

Yeah, you probably got them here. I bought a bunch of these things about a year or two ago along with another brand called Monte Albar. Both were packed in nice aluminum tubos and made in Ecuador. The best thing about this brand is how they were delivered. True story - the guy who owned the brand wasn't really in the cigar business. I guess he thought he'd cash in on the cigar boom, but of course lost his shirt. He's hurting for cash and needs to dump his inventory. When I agreed to buy them, that day he jumps in a rented truck - actually more like one of those extended vans - along with 2 other guys and something like 2,000 boxes of cigars, drives 25 hours straight through from Miami to our warehouse in PA. The 2 helpers are literally tightly wedged in among the boxes the whole trip. Along the way he misses the exit and ends up going way beyond us north into the Pocono mountains. So there are 3 Cuban guys who've never been outside of Miami suddenly lost in the Poconos - if you could have seen the faces of these 3 jokers roll out of this truck when they finally got here - scared ****less!

I bought boxes of both the Monte Albar and Vegas de Guayaquil and used them as give-aways on the golf course. Mild "breakfast" cigar which actually taste better than they look. Non smokers like anything in a tube and tubos are easy to take to the course without damaging. Think I paid less than $20 a box, so they've been good to me. Much better than "The Wolf" signatures.

That's a great story Keith. I bought some of those here. Vegas De Guayaquil Regios in a silver tube.

They weren't half bad. I keep the tubes for pocket storage. I still have one or two in the humidor, sans tubes.
