too bad more of you don't live in the Denver area. Today Brian from Edward's Tobacco called me, and told me they received their first ever shipment of Opus X. I sat down as I braced myself when asking him the price of these cigars. They weren't $50, or $30, but $7 to $15 each, actual retail! I suspect the vast majority of tobacco shops raise the prices way over retail on these for they know they can make a killing off them, but not these guys. They just placed a limit to five cigars for each customer so many customers can try them, so I am getting five torpedoes for $14 a stick, and he promised me a box when they get their next shipment, oooh, a box of Opus baby! I also receieved my box of Fittapaldis, the regular line today, and I must say these come in one of the most attractive boxes I have ever seen.

I tell you what, if you find an actual authorized dealer of Arturo Fuente cigars and they are above the retail price that is normal, report them to the Fuentes. If you check out www.arturofuente.com they ask you to do this. That will bust that crap up.

I personally have never paid more than $11.00 for an Opus X...The range I see them locally (in Chicagoland area)is between $9-14..I've only seen one place (a "cigar-friendly" restaurant/microbrewery in my area that has Opus X (red-foots) for (get this!) $60 a stick!!!...They have had the same box in their humidor for the last six months and somebody actually bought one for that price!!!..Way overrated IMHO..COngrats Aberdeen for finding a place that has a fair price...Im surprised that they allow up to five sticks per person..I thought that Fuente allows only two sticks per person per day (at least that was the rule a year or so ago, instituted by Fuente).

I had a similar experience last year. I was dying to try an Opus given all the stories and build-up I had heard. I found a few sites on the net that offered them for $29.95 a stick. Just out of curiosity I drove up to an authorized Fuente shop in Augusta, GA and found them for suggested retail price with no limits. I bought four or five and really enjoyed them. I would **never** pay 2-3 times retail but when you can find them for $9 - $15 they are well worth the money (IMHO).

Thanks for the heads up. I stopped by to see Brian and Tom today. It has been three or four months since I stopped in there. They are a great bunch of guys!
