Quote from AP article Chicago to File Charges in Club Stampede

"Public records identified the president and principal officer of Le Mirage as Dwain Kyles. The Rev. Jesse Jackson said that Kyles was the son of a longtime friend and had voluntarily submitted to questioning by police.

On Tuesday, Jackson called for an independent investigation of the tragedy by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. He said the club owner should not be made a scapegoat and the city shares some blame for not enforcing codes, adding, "It is the job of inspectors and officials to do just that."

You gotta love Jesse's point of view. Don't blame the guy who violated the law, blame the government. It's never the criminal's fault. What a moron.

News here indicated Jackson has known Dwain Kyles since he was a child.

Interesting blurb that was mentioned was that possible permission might have been given for the club be open. But I do believe that was for the downstairs restaurant portion only.

I saw some community people on the news last night. They were saying it is the COPS fault for not making sure the club stayed closed. Gee! It CAN'T be the fault of the money grubbing **** who refused to follow the fire codes and kept the club open anyway. One guy says: "It's common for security to use mace to control the crowd". Sounds like a fun place! SEND THE OWNER TO JAIL!
