If this has been done to death, or done before, please feel free to flame me. :)

Think back to the early days of your cigar experience. What was the first full box of smokes you ever bought? As for me, I say with a fair tinge of shame, it was a box of Tinder Box house brand. Yeesh!

Well, I dont know if a bundle will count like a box, but my first bundle were some Flor Del Todo's. My first box was Padron Lonsdales.

My first box was 25 years ago. As I recall, it was a box of tubed Romeo's. They were excellent. I can still remember smoking them.

First box was a box of Macanudos in 1973 while I was a Navy LTJG....think they cost about 24 bucks at the Navy PX in Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico!

It was either a box of La Luna Maduro Fuerte torpedos (very good) or a box of Cohiba Lanceros (Habanos) which were astoundingly good except they rolled too tight.

Te Amo corona maduro's
They were the darkest cigars in the shop, so I figured they had to be good.

Didn't anyone start out with machine rolled drug store cigars? Sounds like everyone responding is talking about hand rolled. I wasn't savey, nor capable enough (read $) to buy a box of hand rolled sticks back when I bought my first box. Besides, they were bought just to hand out at a football game. So about 30 of us "enjoyed" my box of HOMEMADE cigars....yes that's right....best 5 for a nickle anywhere (lol). Sorry to admit it, but those were high school hi-jenks days of the 60's.

The box of Punch I bought I paid $35.00 for. I believe it was a brevas. I suspect it of being a machine made.

In response to the earlier post - oh, by no means did I mean to hint that I didn't go through EVERY SINGLE grocery / drug store brand there was...at one point I had a dozen half-empty packages of everything known to man in my kitchen drawer. (Humidify them? What was that?) Garcia Vegas, sure, plus those pipe tobacco ones...a Hav-a-Tampa with the wooden tip - very continental. Even smoked White Owl New Yorkers for awhile, god they were awful, but they were consistently awful and cheap. When the car became unbearable it was fairly painless to toss a ten cent stogie out the window.

CAO Brazilia Amazons when they first came out. Man those things can really put out a volume of smoke!

Mine was 2 boxes at once.
A Fuentes Canones Nat. and A Fuentes Dbl. Chateau Nat.
I was in college and got a good tax refund. Bought my first humidor that day as well :-)
As a matter of fact, I still have 1 Canone from that box, almost 8 years ago :-)
hmmmmmm wonder how that one will taste :-)
Let me think............

First kind-of-box: Cuban Partagas Chicos. Small, but flavorful.

First regular-box: Padron Churchills. Still buy them, all the time.

La Gloria Cubana Wavells in maduro. Still counts as the most satisfactory box purchase I ever made in terms of value and enjoyment and yet I haven't bought a second box. Why?

Those Thompson Dog Rockets don't count, do they? First box of smokable cigars I bought was 5 Vegas. Still casting around and trying five-packs and samplers for the most part...

Tabantillas Churchill maduro. Every once in a while Tabantillas show up for bid here but not in maduro. If they did I'd buy them again. They're kind of like what you get if you feed your dog Eukanuba Premium.

I was lucky, my first box was 5 vegas robustos. Smoked like 3 of them the instant I opened the box.

White Owl "It's a girl" cigars. Tried one, tasted like rolled cigarette tobacco.
