How about those turkeys running Turkey? They want $30 billion in grants and loans to allow the U.S. to base troops there. Okay, it's their country but...Turkey is a NATO member. Don't they have moral and treaty obligations to the alliance? If they persist I'd like it made clear that if NATO is called upon to defend Turkey it may cost them cash.

No means NO

U.S. Won't Sweeten Aid Offer to Turkey
$6 Billion Offer for Access Is Final, Bush Tells Ankara
The administration increased an earlier $4 billion offer to $6 billion last week, according to U.S. officials who said that the money could be leveraged to produce far more in private bank loans. After the weekend, a U.S. official said, the Turks replied with a demand for $10 billion.

And they have 48 hrs to accept it... there's other ways then through Turkey....

With the economy in the tank, and schools woefully underfunded (they are closing them here), how in the world could we think of offering 6billion or more to Turkey? This **** is insane.

here's a little more info from the top...

Bush has washed his hands of the world body. When the time comes, he intends to settle scores with the UN as well as with Germany, France and Russia for behavior which he sees as leaving America in the lurch.

I wonder what GW means by that? settle scores... could he be calling in all there Loans?? no more handouts??
Wow John... if so that means you'll be saving some money... maybe those schools wont close up after all??

it will be interisting to find out...

Good point Hog,
If Bush actually calls in those loans, I will be impressed. If he takes that money and applies it to our own debt I will be doubly impressed. If he takes that money and gives it in tax breakes to the upper 2%... ?? That would be a typical Bush plan, and I wouldn't be impressed.
Most interesting scenario.
Thanks for bringing that up Hog

p.s. I brew my own beer and wine to beat the taxes, Buy my girlfriends cigarettes from the swiss to beat Taxes. I know the upper 2% are better at beating the tax man than I am:-)

325 degree oven, slow cook until that plastic thingie pops out. I like to baste it now and again, even tho the wrapper says you don't have to. But to tell you the truth, I'd rather have the smoked wings at Disney World.
