Give it up Rick! You and you twisted friends cant stop it, its going to happen, and it should!

You are out numbered about 2 to 1 by the polls taken after Colin Powell's speach.

If any of you looked at pictures of the protesters in the US, which Rick made available on another thread, out of 31 pictures, there were 3 shots that had ANY American flags!!! ONLY THREE!!!

Many of these people, not all of course, act like they hate this country.

Not a very patriotic looking protest in my opinion. You can disagree with the government but still show loyalty to THIS country at the same time.

Countries in the middle east probably love that these citizens agree with them and carry no American flags.

I think the flag is a symbol of unity and freedom. That we can disagree but still be united as a people. This symbol seems to be taken more seriously by conservatives than liberals. These pictures are evidence of this.

Are you sure you are not French? Over 70% of Americans support our Military and the actions they are about to undertake.....I am sure the Iraquiis would love to have you serve in their Royal Guard!

LMAO!

Since you are Jewish, had you rather wait until Israel gets hit with a nuke or some kind of Biological attack from Iraq and then retaliate!????

Where were those protesters when Clinton was bombing Baghdad?

Beginning Dec 16, 1998 Operation Desert Fox pumped about 400 cruise missiles and 650 combat air sorties into Iraq against 100 targets. It was a pretty big attack. And what was accomplished? They blew up a lot of stuff but the bottom line is that before Desert Fox there were frustrated weapons inspectors in Iraq, afterwards there were none. Saddam thumbed his nose at the world and refused to allow inspectors to return. Clinton left the matter for another administration.

Clinton and Bush both advocate removing Saddam Hussein. The difference is that Bush is proposing to do more than throw stones from a safe distance.

Many people are suspicious of the Bush administations ties to big oil. Maybe they should be. Connie Rice has a tanker named after her. The new middle east pipeline will probably be named after ****** Cheney! Of course those same people never believed BC acted improperly towards China. They believe he never inhaled and that Monica seduced HIM. We all have our little delusions I guess. The UN should enforce their resolutions. Otherwise how can it be taken seriously as a World authority? If we act alone, or only with Great Britain, the UN might as well close up shop. That might be a bad thing.

what efm said. Where were all the protestors when Clinton was lobbing missles? When we went into Boznia? (SP) if they were consistent, I would at least respect their opinion. As it stands now, it's nothing more than a transparent political argument. They don't like Bush or republicans, so they protest and use their love of humanity as an artifice to disguise their real agenda... A diaphenous artifice indeed...

Those aren't Americans! Those are morons that don't know or understand where their freedoms came from. It takes little courage to hold a protest sign. It takes an unsurmountable amount of courage to defend this nation(and the world!)from enemies foreign AND domestic!

Don't lose sight of which country you were born in, and what it took to build this great country!

"At what point shall we expect the approach of danger?
By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure on earth . . . could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trail of a thousand years . . . . If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."

Rick,
Add my name to the list of those who do not want war.
I HATE war.
But I also know the necessity of a proactive tactical invasion of Iraq to help make the world a safer place.
Left unchecked, Saddam will be the cause of great devastation, either directly or otherwise. Removing him is the right thing to do.

Indeed, who "likes war?" I don't even think the most rabid extremists on this board (I count myself among them) would say they like war. I think many of us have “a bring it on” attitude. That doesn't mean we like it. I see it like this, we don't do something NOW with Sadam and then North Korea, and we're going to catch one in the neck as a direct result of our inaction. i.e., they hate us, they're rogue states, they have and continue to acquire and produce W.O.M.D, there are groups of radical extremists who are willing to die in the act for their cause against us, it's a pretty basic equation IMHO. The price of peace is vigilance and it's time to walk the walk.

You don't have to love war. Usama bin Laden loves it enough for all of us. But you better resolve to fight one. Lay down and expose you neck as a sign of peace in front of these devils and they will hack it off. Don't kid yourself you can be nice enough and they will change. They may possibly change if you convert to Islam, provided they believe you are really really sincere and don't have blue eyes.

Correction, Usama Ben Laden doesn't like WAR! He is a terrorist and he likes to sneak attack and fight civilians, not militaries! Militaries fight wars!

I do not like or want War! But when it is necessary to fight for freedom/...............So be it!

God Bless America!

So many Americans are uninformed. First, if there was no oil in the Gulf there would be no U.S. interest (who wants sand). Second, we have the capabilities to produce hydrogen fuel (which is made from water and clean burning) at 35 cents a gallon. Third, al Qaeda's beef with us is that we are stationed or influence Arab (Holy) lands. If we producted hydrogen and pulled out of the Gulf, used the money saved to retool the auto industry and oil refineries to produce/use hydrogen, no war would be nessesary.

Why do the pacifists start yelling "its about the oil" when the US decides not to sit back and wait for another attack? This is the same old BS we heard in '90. Thousands of American citizens went to Kuwait and helped them rebuild after Saddam did his dirty work. I don't see all the oil we went over there to get!

The majority of people in the middle east will never like us, why? because we support Isreal. Big deal!!! They have as much of a right to be there as the Arabs do. The whole area is the center of most religions.

People just let their emotions get in the way of clear thinking. The 9/11 attacks were hopefully the end, but they we definitely not the beginning. We just happened to have an Administration willing to try to do something more permanent.

I don't want war, but I would sign up again and go if it meant my children and their future children would be assured the freedoms we all enjoy and safety from these extremists.

miluns,

Iraq has never attacked the U.S.

Research the 9/11 attackers/planners. None of them from Iraq or with connections to Iraq.

This is a real problem. People seem to associate the two, and there is NO connection. The Bush admin. has really done a good job of confusing these two issues to their own advantage.

Usahog,

thanks, you took the words right off my keyboard!! Maybe Irag doesn't have any connections, but we know how Saddam operates and it is unlikely that given the chance he would say "no thanks". Do you want to wait until there is definite proof? Say after another attack? How many people are you willing to sacrifice?

May God be with you and your family if nothing is done and we all live to regret it.

Like I have said in previous posts....do the French have to see the Eifel Tower destroyed before they will admit that there is a problem? I hope not!

I did choose to apologize. That is just one subject I prefer not to debate. Did not want the subject to be changed because of a heart felt statement.
