After reading the job/hobby thread, I noticed that E-Chick is the only other person who mentioned SCUBA diving as a hobby. Are we the only ones?

divnmyk, I haven't been able to find the time to get wet for almost 3 years, much to my dismay. However, prior to that I have been rated for over 34 years, dove most of the oceans of the world and was a part time instructor for nearly 25 years. I will get back to it and hoope to continue diving as long as I can breathe.

Many moons ago,I used to dive. Mostly in Baja. I ate so much lobster, rock scallops, fresh fish and abalone, that all I eat anymore is fish. I'm still sick of the rest. Many good memories of diving with Curly Ratliff,my diving teacher, who's no longer with us. I miss him everyday. He was a good man. X

Good to know I'm not the only one around here who likes to blow bubbles.

qball- After 34 years, why would you quit? I too am hoping to keep going as long as I'm able to breathe.

bigjordo- Where are you going to school? Are you near water at all?

x- Mexico is on my list. I mostly dive Monterey but have been fortunate enough to dive Catalina, Maui, Florida and some local lakes.

Mag- (clap, clap, clap) You got it right!!!! Time to put the wetsuit back on!!! Do you still remember how to breathe?

divnmyk, I still remember how to breath. I would have to take a refresher course though before putting the tanks back on!

Have you had serious thoughts of getting back in the water? I've only been diving since 98 and can't imagine a time when I'll stop. If you don't mind my asking, why did you quit? I know there are always other things to do, but like I said, I can't imagine a time when I'll stop.

Warm temps , warm water , cold beer sometimes life is good . Oh yea they even tolerate CIGARs .

I have had certification in past and really love to dive; however, have not been in 10 years! Wife is not keen on swimming with sharks, rays, etc! It is lots of fun and I am thinking of taking it up again.

Have been to Belize, Australia, Cozumel, Bahamas, Keys and of course here in California (least favorite place to dive, oh well maybe the Mississippi River or one of those places).

odonndj- 1st post?!?!? Get on the board and introduce yourself! Let me be the first to welcome you to the nuthouse! A bunch of great people here. Some whackos (myself included) and some real goofs but all in all really good folks.
Bonaire sounds like a great trip. I don't usually have the cash to hit warm water so most of my diving is in Monterey, CA.

Best regards,
Michael

Gotcha... AZ is really not the place for scuba diving is it. I just drove through there on 40 and there's not a lot of water around there. :-)
Well I'm really sorry it's not a hobby of your any longer.
