disgusting, inexcuseable, they should be ashamed of themselves. when i fight with you guys, we are peers, but using children is abhorrent.

we had that happen years ago when jarvis was trying to save peoples homes from being taxed out from under them. proposition 13 cut the tax on homes and put a cap on it. prior to prop 13, people on soc sec were losing there houses because of taxes. my kids were told, no more this and no more that and 50 in a class room. they even mentioned it at a pta meeting. i spoke to the man who mentioned it and gave him a piece of my mind about using the kids. fortunately it passed by over 60% so my tax on my house, with the va discount is under $1000.00, if prop 13 didn't pass, toby and i would be living in a mobile home in parker, az.

After thinking about it a while, I've come to the conclusion that teachers might better serve students by exercising a little objectivity. Present both sides of the issue before tendering an opinion. It does not follow that if a war is unethical, those who fight it are unethical. And I don't think said people are applying ethical criteria to the current situation. Of course you don't have to take philosophy in college to be a teacher. Kids in grade school are too young to be subjected to this kind of crap.

This is why so many Families have gone to Home Schooling...Arguing with a 7 yr old... as if there adult enough to even understand....All they know is there Daddy or Mommy is gone and going into a War that may not bring them back... and Yes Rick they should be sent home on Suspension with there pay suspended until this matter is cleaned up...if the Child who it may be 7-17 would be suspended for speaking out against a teacher or other student.. for the same reasons.. it should be a equal oppertunity!!!
I do Believe part of becoming a Teacher they have to go through an Ethics corse....

and you wonder why these Kids Bring Guns to class and Class Violence.... I think it's writen Proof right there....

Hell this even solves the case of the previous Post of attacking Bush on the cutbacks to the School Systems...
for military members!!!!

had my mobile home on the az side on the hill above the pumping station, just above the bill williams bridge. never got tired of the view and the thunderstorms. kept the boat docked at havasu springs.

the best beers i ever tasted were the ones i had at night after i dropped the family off and went down to the boat to prepare it for the 6:00am hit the water and let's ski. then sit down with the beer and enjoy earth, sky, and night sounds. second best were the first beer of the day as we pulled out of the "no wakes area" and punched it.in the 70's, we were able to take advantage of an empty lake. we could go to londen bridge and park at the dock near the tourist area. both kids skied non stop from parker dam to havasu at age ten. a time of life never to be forgotten.

i was saying i don't like teachers using children to further their personal agenda.

demadvibb's link refered to teachers influencing children to be anti war in iraq and i was refering to teachers using children to promote their point of view about a tax referendum that might affect their jobs.

Rick,
Sounds like a blast. Definitely memories to cherish. Have not been to Lake Havasu, but plan to some day. So many place we not visited here. Lake Havasu is really one hot spot in the Summer. I think they bounce back and forth with Yuma and Bullhead City for high temperature records.
