at about 10:30am (MDT) on Mon the 19th, MrsS and I were sitting on the rear deck of our cabin in Utah ... thinking she heard a sound behind her in the bushes, she stood and turned to see what it was ... as she did so, a cow moose stepped into the open no more than 10' from us (I measured it later) ... Mrs retreated quickly inside the cabin, but handed me the camera to take this pic ... I got others of this gal and of a bull who appeared a minute or two later ... they appeared shortly after I lit a Mayorga torpedo maduro and lingered in the area until it was nubbed before wandering away ...

Interesting that moose like Mayorgas (can't blame 'em- I love them too- these moose have good taste). I bet a Lone Wolf would have kept them away.

Welcome back Steve- looks like you had a good time.

Do they even have antlers/felt yet this time of year?
Did you get a REALLY good look?
Are you SURE it was a Cow Moose?

That's strange ... I've never herd of cross-breeding them ...

... must be how we get chocolate milk ... hehe
