To me this used to be the benchmark of scotch. This was in the days that I drank Cutty Sark and JB Rare. On the rare occasion Chivas Regal. On the even rarer occasion Chivas Regal Salute. When I drank it,I thought I was heaven. I couldn't afford to buy a bottle but the thought always remained. Fast forward about 30 years. This Xmas while shopping at Costo,I saw a Display with the Royal Salute in a cigar humidor. So,on impulse I buy it. It was Xmas,so I say what the hay. I just got around to trying it the other day. Man,what a major disapointment. Practically flavorless when compared to the good single malts I've been drinking. To top it off the humidor is lined with aromatic cedar making it useless for any good cigars. I think my Acids found a new home,LOL. Goes to show you that Scotch makers don't necessarily know how to make a cigar humidor. Oh well, live and learn. X
