Now , as if Hootie Johnson and the elite members of Augusta National don't have enough problems, the KKK has announced they will protest on behalf of the troubled members of Augusta during the Masters. This will be a real zoo, with NOW, Jesse Jackson and the KKK all marching in front of the entrance to Augusta National.

I am sure the blue bloods that are members of Augusta are not real happy with the KKK coming to their defense.

Can't wait till the tournament. It will be a real carnival this year.

Oh man! I cant wait to see what happens. Jesse Hijackson and the KKK on the same side! This is gonna be good reading material later. Maybe they will start beating on each other on the sidelines, and wipe each other out! Then, they can both disappear, once an for all! Hehehe!! Just my opinion.

I play golf and I enjoy it ... I don't watch golf on TV ... it bores me ... I've never been a member of a private club, but if I were, I'd expect the club could accept the membership they want to accept and not accept the rest ... it's a PRIVATE club !!! ...

they don't have to admit me or any other particular individual that they don't want to admit and if I don't like it, I can start my own damn club and admit who I want to admit ..., and if Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or the KKK don't like it, tough **** ... with a lineup of "friends" like the KKK, who the hell needs enemies ???

i hope they do not show any of the protesters either for or against. let them protest all they want, but let's not interrupt the golf with speeches and signs.

i don't even play the game anymore, but to watch tiger wood compete is like watching an artist at work.

You can bet the coverage of the protesters won't interfere with the golf. Hootie and the rest of the tournament committee have big-time clout with CBS. The issue may be aknowledged or addressed but it will be in a dignified way. They dictate the number and type of commercials, the announcers; etc. They oversee most facets of the broadcast right down to the camera angles and the language and tone of the commentators. Gary McCord was fired a few years ago because they considered one of his remarks inappropriate. If you want coverage of the protests you'll probably see more on CNN than CBS.

Yeah, and huge photo-op for Jesse. I'll bet Al Sharpton is green with envy. If they get REAL lucky maybe they'll get fire hoses turned on them. Throw in some skinheads, some right to lifers and some gay pride activists, give away free beer, it could be a lot of fun.

Because of the contract (they could sell rights to Augusta on TV for over 100 million if they wanted, it is less than 10 million per year-I believe. The Augusta National Golf Club will not allow any coverage of the "protessters"! Count on that, if given air time look for the Masters to be pulled from CBS and go for highest bidder in future!

I completely (VERY RARE) agree with Rick on this one. He nailed this issue with the unequivocally correct remedy ---- Make it a non-issue.

Do you think the protestors will try to disrupt the tournament to insure that they get their TV time? Tigers ready to putt and someone with a sign runs out onto the green...

I've been to a couple of pro tournaments.

You cant just walk on in. You must pay.

I doubt that if you are carrying a protest sign, or look like a protestor, that you could even get into the place.

Remember its not a public facility. They dont have to let anyone in that they dont want.

The Augusta National Golf Club completely controls this event and the coverage. They would not let CBS televise the front 9 holes until about 7 or 8 years ago.

They control who the announcers are and will bar ones they do not like. The protestors will not get coverage, and if they do CBS will likely loose the event to ABC or NBC.

Bring back Ben Wright...Gary tries too hard to be funny and isn't anymore, but when they were acouple, it was fun to listen to them and watch golf...Also cool hearing Tom Weiskopf for many years on the 13th...He was Greg Norman before Greg Norman - should have won the Masters and many more majors - too rough on himself and he competed against the Golden Bear; still the standard bearer by which el Tigre is measured
