...what are you smokin' tonight???

I want to try some new ones.

Any suggestions on the Punch line (how's that for a pun?)?

Or how about HdM? Besides Excalibur 1066...

Ah, what about AF besides the Hemi's?

Indian Tabac?

Have a fabulous weekend...

I decided to break with tradition and have a La Tradicion... Madie. It moved me. Like a strong cup of coffee the morning after a big mexican mean. Well, not exactly, but I was moved. Yum. Perdomo, hard to go wrong (hard).

I was reminded about the Perdomo Estate Selections a couple days ago,so I may just have to dig into one of the coolers and retrieve a box I buried from the original release over two or so years ago.Should pare well with the thick slab of Rib Eye steak I have slated for the grill tonight. Oh Yummy!

Just finished up a HdM Dark Sumatra Ebano. Yum. Earlier today, thanks to jd1, I had a Camacho Liberty. Started of this morning with a Occidental HSG torpedo.

E, try the Punch Grand Cru line and the The IT Cameroon Legend.

4 hours of friends, gars and drinks.

Started off with:

Don Tomas Corojo Fat Toro

CAO Brazilia Go

Cuban Parejo Rothschild Maduro

Also drank 12oz. of Bacardi 151 with 30oz. of Coke.

Whew what a night!!!

Now trying like hell to type this without any mistakes.

Took almost 15 minutes to do so.

Strong night, huh?

The game warden has told me that I've reached my limit.

I'll try to make it upstairs to bed. Good night to all.

Slim and E-chick,

I stopped by Captain Hunts yesterday afternoon to check out the 858s and was disappointed to find that they were all gone! DOH! Harry seemed almost puzzled that he didn't have them anymore. Hmm, I ended up leaving my name and phone number with him for what it was worth. Another missed opportunity...the story of my life, LOL. -Kai

After a delicous Happy Meal at Micky D's I enjoyed a Merit Menthol Ultra Light with a can of Schlitz. After getting warmed up I had a Marlboro Red King with Bud Light. To top off the evening I threw caution to the wind and broke out the good stuff: a Camel Turkish Gold 100 and a can of Coors. Yumpin Yimminy, it just don't get no better than that.

To eleltea:

If you mean the blue label maduro "O", you will love it. The red label is also great. I'm amazed at how well constructed they are too. My only complaint is those cloth bands have a habit of either falling off or opening up in storage - not enough to keep me from buying them though! ;-p

Enjoy your Oliva

Ahhh The great End of the week smoke fest..Started off with a Astral Favorito for fun, moved to a Colorado Don Lino Churchill for a little spice and finished with a smooth Onyx Vintage ESCEPCIONALE. Productive night I would say. Still a few hours till sunrise :)

kaikai1102 --- probably my fault, for posting the source at a cigar fourm ... LOL!

I was hoping that wouldn't happen ... but I should have known better.

Next time I make a rare find like that, I'm going to give out the source by email only ... if that will make a difference ... LOL!

I wanted to try one of the Punch cigars that were recommended here, but the cigar bar only had the Rothschild...

...so I went to an AF Hemi Best Seller.

I still like the Short Story or the Classic better.

The draw wasn't that terrific on this particular Best Seller.

As soon as I find my camera's battery charger, I'll post a pic of what a friend gifted Mike and I with at the cigar bar.

Probably will smoke them tonight....

Hint: ISOM
;)

E-Chick - I was terribly excited for a fleeding moment...Could not find the pic!

Regarding CA and their evaluation of cigars, in one word BS...I have not agreed with many of thier evaluations and probably won't agree with this one either. The absolute fav Habana cigar for me is the "Montecristo Number 2" and trust me when I say that I have smoked a lot of Cubans. The second would have to be Vegas Robania, followed (closely by) Bolivars Number 2 turbo.

Okay, my 2 cents.

Regards,

B

eleltea --- I guess you didn't do your homework before you posted your comment ...

Perhaps Cuba's greatest cigar. The Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona is a benchmark for the cigar world. It is gorgeous and smokes like a dream. The aromas and flavors are incredibly distinctive and reminiscent of chocolate, nutmeg and cinnamon.

It was rated 99 in the Dec 01, 1992 issue ...

And I did submit the pic...it's just not posted yet...

My bad ... I completely missed the 'non' part ...

I was referring to the only Cuban cigar (as E-Chick said it was an ISOM) rated 99 by CA was the Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona ...

Since E-Chick said the the cigar gifted to her was a Cuban that was rated 99 by CA ... his post, "CA never rated a non-isom that high" through me for a loop ...

... just having a 'senior moment' ... LOL!

Still hasn't posted pic yet...

AND...I need to talk to my friend about the rating he bragged about...it is in the 90's but not 99 as far as CA's site goes...

Still, if I wasn't feeling so sick last night and today, I would have smoked one and reported back.

Egruff, I liked the Blue Band O. Very, very smooth.

Slimboli, CA Sept/Oct 2002 on the Jeff Bridges cover headlined: The First 100-Point Cigar. It was a Dunhill Cabinetta 1986 rated by James Suckling. A box of 25 would cost more than $7,500 at an auction, at that time. Now who knows.

I tend to agree with Smith about CA ratings, and ratings in general. Of course, Suckling's opinion of the Dunhill is one I probably won't be able to contest. I will leave that one up to X.
