Is it acceptable to light up the foot of a stick if the head is bruised or frayed in some way? I've had a few smokes that were too precious to discard just because the tip was bashed in some way. Sometimes cutting it down just doesn't work. Will it affect the way the cigar smokes? Although I'm sure a torpedo couldn't handle this torture........Brent

I've done it but wouldn't recommend unless the cap was completly runied. The cap is added to keep the cigar from seperating from the wrapper and binder while smoking.

Cut off the head and wet the head end. It's not the best way to smoke a cigar, but it's better than throwing it away. In the future, don't bang the cigars, or put them in your back pocket
