I smoked one of the H. Uppmans torps today (My First) and the only way to describe it is unbelievable. I can hardly type...my objective for the rest of my life will be to buy and horde all H. Upmann torps that I can get my hands on...

I just cashed in my retirement account, my 401K, which my wife does not know about, sold our home in Virginia and took out a second mortgage on the home here. Is anyone interested in buying a slightly used 2002 VW Passat V6 All Wheel Drive?

Somebody has got to stop me before I go crazy….

Now back to reality =)

Regards,

B

Mr Mean - Great Call and very good description!!! It is that good!

Robby - As for top of the heap - It is so hard to call now that I have "broadened my Horizions". I still favor the Robania but I have smoked more of them too. Once I get through this box - which probably won't take long - I will be able to provide you with a more honest assessment. I really think that this gar should be on your short list!!!

With no disrespect to any know religion "I pray,"
Dear Cigar Gods,
Please continue to keep smithbw (Billy) in good health and of sound mind in his Havana selections. Also, ensure his generosity is returned many fold, as we his friends and brothers of the leaf continue to partake in trades to boggle the mind. We ask this in the name of all brothers of the leaf who have or have yet to know our beloved smithbw. Amen.

Embargo be damned..we have smithbw!

April 2003 issue of Cigar Aficionado rates the H. Upmann No. 2 a 91. The Monte No. 2 is rated a 94. Did Habanos buy this rating or did CA get these right?

I 'perosnally' don't put any faith in ratings. I find a lot of Cubans to be very smiliar in taste and texture almost hard for my undeveloped pallet to distinguish! I have been smoking cigars for only 5 years. So, I don't think that I posses the necessary skills to try and evaluate such inredible smokes.

smithbw --- if after 5 years you can't taste the differences in the cigars, you never will ...

Of the Havana's I've enjoyed, I too have found this one to be top shelf and one of the best

I think CA got it right, it is a great, consistent cigar! It's one of my fav's. But with that said, ratings are mostly just one (or a few) person’s opinion. Your own taste may differ.

Buy, and smoke what pleases you, ratings be damed!

Cheers,

PT ;)

Slimboli - The remark that I made about not being able to tell the difference after 5 years of smoking cigars, was "my way" of snubbing the raters.

BTW - What is your opinion of this gar?

petertyras - Can't agree with you more! Smoke what you like ratings are for other people!

Low - Fire it up Bro (Once you get it) and LMK - What you think about it!

Regards,

B
