While it's arguable that all quality cigars improve with extra humidor time, I'm discovering that this is essential in order to unlock the potential of certain cigars. I invite the opinions of others on specific cigars that are entirely transformed or dramatically improved with age. A couple recent discoveries:

Don Juan Criollo: Disappointly bland when I tried the first two, a couple additional months of humidor time have turned this into a completely different cigar from those earlier ones. Age has given it a wonderful nutty taste that simply wasn't there before. I couldn't even recognize it as the same brand, it was so much improved.

Vega Talanga: See my comments on the thread by that name.

Perdomo Fresh-Rolled Wheel: Though not as dramatic a transformation, this one definitely gains much more flavor when allowed to rest for a while.

I also should add Warhol to my list. Very undistguished when I first got some, three months of rest have produced a new complexity of flavor. Still not a great smoke, but decent and much improved.

See this thread, I've never seen a cigar that didn't show dramatic improvement with age. The caveat would be cigars which use well aged tobbaccos and are then aged after being rolled and before being sold. These are typically very expensive cigars and are very good OTT or after some time in the humi as well. They may be slightly better with more time in your humi, but they're already aged and ready to schmoke. They've been spending time in a humi, just at the manufactures. Or in some of the linez listed here, they say that they were rolled 7 years ago!

I second the Warhol's!!! I bought those for my poker night with the fellas(see Bernie Mac)at a fraction of the other prices. Well, I had about 12 of them sitting in darkness and had to make room in a humi a year later and found them around Christmas. They weren't the worst cigar I'd ever smoked, but after lighting one up, it didn't taste the same as I remembered. It was really good! I'm thinking about some 5 Vegas, Phat Boys, Tabaclera bundles or whatever I can get my hands on cheap(and that I'd really want to smoke)and park em for a year!
