Is this supposed to be humourous? If so, it's truly a pathetic effort?

Can't help but notice the parallel to Russian and German media cartoons of the 30's and 40's. This effort is Stalanistic and would make Saddam Hussein proud, very proud.

In a nutshell, this post is a "PIECE (not peace) OF ****"

Now ... now ... justforfun ...

... you know that posts with profanity can be 'yanked'.

All this is ... is 'political satire', and it's been going on since the beginning of time.

Let's not make it out to be more than it is, as they are designed to get peoples emotions riled up!

I happen to agree with justforfun.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned in my thinking that war time is a time to stand up for your country and back your leaders?

yeaup, as I said in a previous post, even Bill Clinton (a notorious POS) said just that. He supported the troops and our president. I think if he can do it, anybody can, at least until we finish moping up.

Actuall Slim...the first bit of profanity was used on the picture in this post.

I get the satire and take it as such.

While I understand the sentiment that we should support our leaders during war time, it also worries me in some sense. If we give unquestioning support of our leaders that not only permits almost any action, but it also gives the leader some motivation to have wars. If one's support is low, then causing a war is ultimately beneficial to that leader. Thus, we are in a situation where war can be used to garnish support. Not a situation I particularly like.

Slim:

This is ONE very sad (dam) effort at satire or humor or whatever you want to call it. By the way, as to my use of profanity, to you and others, with the exception of this post's author, my apology. I was merely regurgitating the puke listed in the first line of the cartoon.

You know, I actually voted for Gore and Clinton (mea culpa, mea culpa), and was against this war 3 weeks ago. Now that it's on, I'm in full (FULL) support of our efforts, and to anyone who says differently, I say move to Canada, Mexico, Iraq, or France. TO HELL WITH YOU!!

The only REAL problem I have with this post is the title instead of - "THE PROBLEM IN A "NUT"SHELL" it should have read "FROM A NUT CASE" yes Rick in case your wondering I am reffering once again to you.

Speaking of sh*t, wars are like prunes is one enough - is six to many. I guess it all depends on the individuals mind set. JonR

Political humor is in the eye of the beholder. The Republicans on this site don't like political satire that pokes fun of the president during this trying time or any other time for that matter. However, they sure like politcal satire that pokes fun of ex-president Bill Clinton or any other Democrat. Political satire is just that, satire. I laugh when the satire is funny. I don't when it's not. Some of it is just mean spirited but that's the way some people are. X

yeah, but even I could keep a lid on it for a few weeks... No one is suggesting that people should switch parties here... It is simple deference to the troops who are unquestionably in harms way "right now."

i speak now not, of the troops, but of the chickenhawk leaders, and they should never have an inch of room to continue killing.

I see no ill-will on our troops from Rickmaven's post. So many people think a comment on our President is an attack on our troops, but its not. I must reiterate that being anti-Bush is not being anti-American or anti-troops.

I am deeply offended. Some of us take our coffee pretty seriously and cannot bear anyone making fun of the sacret bean.
