I'm a freak.
8 home games plus two preseason games isn't enough to satisfy my yearly Patriots binge.
Add to that the obligatory Jets encounter at the meadowlands and you'd think that would be plenty.
Well, it isn't.
So each year we go to one additional road trip (minimum).
Which brings us to this season: The Pats play the Dolphins in October. So I'm thinking of dragging the wife to FLA and combine the Miami madness with some time in the Keys.
Question:
Is is OK to head to the Keys in the middle of October?
Or is the hurricane season too much of a burden?
And which Key is the best? I'm thinking Key West, but I'm gonna look at Marathon on some recent advice.
Any first hand knowledge would be appreciated.

The only key I see, is the key point that the Patriots SUCK. Not in a normal kind or sucking, but in the most vulger kind.

They are one hit wonders, that I wouldnt waste the paper to print tickets on. Oh well, somebody has to be a sucker and support them.

I guess Being lucky for a season, gives you bragging rights for a short time while still getting their asses completely thrashed.

I predict the Parrots will crash and burn this season! I hope this helps you make up your mind about your travel plans. Go ahead, it feels good to hug a loser. It will make you feel better.

GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mag, I wouldn't speak too load about one hit wonders, especially with the Raiders being $50 million over the salary cap.

GO PACK!!..consistant winners since 1994.

Which also happens to be Brett Favre's first full starting season.

Tailgater,

Miami may be a fine place to go, shouldn't have a problem getting tickets..lol.

Stay away from Tampa, very rude people. I went to a Packer game there in 1999. It was a horrible experience. We in Green Bay would never treat fans of the opposition in such a low class manner.

I've been to Key West on several occassions since '77. While it's much changed over the years, Key West still has a lot of the charm and character that attracted Hemmingway when he moved his home there from Cuba in 50's.

PROs: sun, nightlife, fishing, dinning (seems like every burned-out New York chef opened a resturant in Key West)

CONs: expensive, beaches are few and small, large gay community (last trip down our maitre d' was wearing red high heels which my daughter politely ignored.)

Ducati, we will see how the Raiders handle the cap problem. They are usually pretty creative. I'm not making any predictions yet, but you know I will sound off sooner or later.

Ducati:
I went to Tampa some years back. It was their last season in the old stadium (the Big Sombrero).
Fans were great. We had a great time staying oceanfront in Clearwater. My biggest regret was not visiting Ibor City.

Nice of you to lash out at the other teams. Is this how you compensate for the biggest Choke Job in Superbowl History?
You still have yet to admit that Gannon, despite an MVP regular season, sucked worse than any quarterback ever in the Big Game. EVER.
I think Brad Johnson was the only Buc to NOT get an interception.

So, if you mean the Patriots "suck" as in: beat the heavily favorite opponent when it Really counts, then yeah, they suck.

I bet Tom Brady's Superbowl MVP trophy will mean a lot more to him than Gannons regular season MVP trophy will to Richy. You never hear players talk about years of preparation to simply make it to the superbowl. Most players want to actually win.

Rich Gannon is not one of them.

Mag,
If I wanted to lay into you and your raiders, you'd find it hard to sit without grimacing for several days.

I knew you were yanking my chain, so I yanked back at ya.
