Ok...heres the question...always see the posts and notice the aging most people put on their cigars before enjoying them...

However, i dont seem to recall of any cigar being great upon arrival without any extensive aging...(ok...maybe a couple of days in the 'dor)....

The dilemna and plea for help...figuring on getting a box for vacation coming up rather quickly...so can't age them too much...any suggestions for a good cigar that is pretty much good upon arrival...

I enjoy medium-to-full-bodied cigars with thicker ring gauges....and i dont want to spend a fortune on these...

Thanks

For good value, I'd try a bundle of the CI corojos. They're good right from the get-go, and I've never been disappointed with one of these. Cheap, too!

Any AF Sun Grown. Or any AF for that matter. IT makes a good out of the box smoke so does CAO.

Padrons are good out of the box. Anniversaire or standard line. Six months are the best for them, but they are good straightaway.

CAO...I agree with that. Always ready to roll.

No cigar is ever good without sufficient time in the humidor. But do not despair.
Simply purchase a box of, let's say CAO Cammys. Send them to me. I will provide you with a well aged box of Tamborils. Believe me, they are well aged. I put them in the coolerdor several years ago and I have not touched them since. In fact, they have their own coolerdor which looks similar to a large plastic trash can, but believe me it has kept perfect humidity for these gems. I use a special humidifying device also. Apparently, one of the byproducts of rotting garbage is water vapor.
In fact, the only concern is that the Tamborils may adversely affect the aroma of the rotting garbage.
Either way, these beauts should be ripe for your vacation.
And no need to thank me. Let's just say that you'll owe me one !

There are a lot of cigars that are good out of the box ... and aging just makes them better ... that's all.

Bucaneros leaves are aged 3 to 5 years before they are rolled, and then aged an additional 6 months after they are rolled in their aging rooms before they are sold.

If they have an ammonia smell when you get them, they are considered green (the sick period) and they should be aged at least 3 to 6 months before smoking ... if they smell good, then smoke them!

Any CAO right out of the box.. The Cammies are yummy with the churchill being my favorite, eXtreme tubo II or my present favorite Brazillia Samba model. Padron maddy any size would be nice also. My mouth is watering just thinkin about it. I'm gonna go get me a Samba and spark it up...

You guys are admirable in your restraint. I'm a pig and I want to smoke my cigars when I get 'em. I don't have the patience to age cigars for years. Granted some cigars are better OTT than others. I 've finally disciplined myself to have a deep enough supply of cigars to age them for 3 months or so. I doubt I'll ever have a cigar that gets aged for years.

Ults, I hope I can say that word, are a very good cigar and are aged at least a year before you get your hands on them.

That's not to say you won't have to let them stabilize to get the excess moisture out of them.

Just got some Perdomo Reserves....just fine out of the bag. Gonna age the rest anyway.

Gotta figure, most of what you order here was not delivered to you straight from the roller. They already have some time on them. Not necessarily a personally controlled environment, but Cbid keeps them quite well. Never hurts to put your personal touch on your supply. But I would think most of what you buy retail has a few months or more in a well controlled environment or Cbid and other retailers wouldn't survive long, delivering bad sticks.

Fortunately (except for the CC bill) I have enough 'gars that I can let new ones set for sometime before "needing" them in the rotation. But especially if they are an entirely new addition I do have to try a couple straight out of the FEDEX truck. And sometimes they are not all that great but then a couple months later SHAZAMMM.

I do think that most of the shipments do come in a little "wet" and do need the down time to shed some of the excess moisture content....69
