Before I get Slimslapped over this question, I did do a search and did not see an answer to my questions listed below.
When I went to my coolidor to pull out a morning smoke, I found two cigars with evidence of beetles. I don't understand how this happens as the coolidor maintains a 65-70% relative humidity with temperatures in the mid-60s. I pulled the two cigars and cut them open and saw two beetles. Nasty, ugly, little white worm looking creatures.
What I've done so far:
I pulled the box that was housing these cigars, put it into a ziplock bag, took a paper towel and soaked it with water, put that into a small bag, put that into the ziplock bag containing the box, and put it into the freezer. I know to let it set in the freezer for two days, pull it out and put it into the fridge for another day, then back into the coolidor.
Question:
My question is how much do I have to worry about the rest of my boxes in the coolidor. I went thru every box and looked at most of my cigars in the coolidor and saw no evidence of beetles. By the way, if you see a lot of what I call tobacco dust (black specks) in a cellophane then you probably have beetles. Should I freeze the rest of my cigars in the coolidor? I do use boxes to house singles, 5-packs, and different cigars that I bought or received in trades and have no more room in my humidors.
How much should I worry about my humidors which house my premiums? I did check them out as soon as I found a problem with my coolidor, but didn't see anything wrong with them.
Thanks in advance for your help!!!
