any good sites (good reputation and positive experience) for ordering cubans. how many of you have tried this? cigarbid.com is a great site for all other cigars, but i wouldn't mind having a couple havanas in the humidor.

If you are looking for Cubans online, then check out some of these sites. As you can see the first two are based in the UK, but will give you some sort of a tax break because you are not a British citizen. The other site, I promise you is the cheapest site in the world which will send you genuine, cut priced cubans. I visit spain on a regular basis and know the official "Habanos" government set prices...this is as close as you will get...but like all other suppliers, you take the risk of "customs intivention"...some will get through, some will not...The risk is high, but so are the pleasures...the gamble my friend is all yours! what will happen if customs intervenes? do they just confiscate the smokes or is there other trouble involved.

Probation w/ fine is a bit more common than a short jail term. Deportation and a bar from re-entry in extreme situations. As there is an imbargo against Cuba, this is of course considered trading with the enemy at the least or treason at worst.

sounds pretty risky. although i doubt the extreme situations you mentioned above would ever happen, the risk may not be worth it.

I don't believe that anyone has ever served any incarceration for purchasing Cuban cigars...If they intercept them, you get a letter from Customs saying that someone sent you illegal cigars and they are holding them and if you want them, advise them and they will hold some sort of a hearing...Obviously no one attempts to get them back...It's a warning letter basically...I've seen a few of them that a friend has received a couple of times...Very official looking

Also, AJ, you might want to check the guidelines of this forum pertaining to posting web addresses of companies on the forum...A good idea is to post your email asking the requester to email you for information...Just a bit of advice from the other side of the pond, my friend!

I understand that it would not be fair to post a "Rival" site on cigar.bid (who I have done some business with, and been delighted witht he results...except one run in with HM Customs!)...but as the request was for a site that supplied Cubans, I didn't really think anyone would be too offended...sorry to the injured party, if I caused any undue harm. Still a bit unfair...he could spend that money on this site instead!...what did customs do to you, as described earlier?

I had two orders from the site, one for cigars(Which were intercepted) and the other for merchandise. I got a letter from customs saying that they had seized the goods as no duty had been paid. I called them to see if I could pay the duty, but because of the problems relating to tobacco smuggling in the UK, I was not given this option. My merchandise( A Humidor and a cutter) reached me fine, I pressume that they opened both parcels, and let the one go that did not break the law.As for what your customs would do to you in your country, Re;The Cubans, I don't know...it was different in my situation because there is no embargo on buying goods from the states...As I said, I just had mine confiscated because of unpaid TAX...maybe if you got cought trying to smuggle cubans, It could be much worse?
