On another site a reviewer mentioned that 5 vegas has been bought out and the result relating to quality is not good. I've done a little research and haven't been able to confirm this. Any thoughts?

Did they mention who bought them out? That might give you a starting point for your research.

Got the email from Keith shortly after writing him. And on a Sunday too. Now that's dedication. Or boredom. Here's the word...

Hi Kendall,

Thanks for the note. I noticed that comment there a few months ago too. But I tend to disagree. The weird thing is that it's been made by the same manufacturer from day one, the same guy who's always made 5 Vegas, Henry "Kiki" Berger. He also makes Cupido, Savinelli Nicaraguan Reserve, and others. I've been to his factory on several occasions and the only thing that's changed is the location - it was moved down the road a couple miles because he outgrew the old factory. Same maker, same blend, newer, larger factory, etc. So, I don't think the quality has changed. I do know that 5 Vegas tends to improve markedly with age, more dramatically than many brands - I've notice that and it's a consistent comment I hear from others too. So if you like 5 Vegas and have a little patience, let them sit for a few months. Of course, everyone's got unique tastes and opinions - what do you think?
