Hey, it is LA and he is a "minority" and therefore gets full protection from the ACLU and anyother do gooder group out there.

New Police chief does not seem to care about all that and I think he will get nailed.

Typical of repeat offenders....Rodney King

LLT - I think the Reginald Denny incident was extremely racist as well!! There are many people who are not color blind when it comes to calling someone else a racist, it's sad because racism comes in MANY varieties!

Like I said, they're trained to use there sticks if you don't respond... He didn't get any wood shampoo... They were beating his legs, back, and arms. He should have stopped resisting and they would have stopped beating. When cops pull me over, I say "yes sir", "no sir", and "thank you officer"... Of course there was a time or two when I was 18 that I had to outrun them :-)

Robby...there is a huge difference between resisting arrest and trying to defend yourself against cops going way above the call of duty. I may not agree with what he did, and his reasons for being arrested...but I definitely don't agree with the way he was treated by the police that day...as well as the way the courts treated the police later on. There is no excuse, they abused their right and should rot along with him.

I'll say it again, if a cop pulls you over, gets you out of the car, and tells you "get on the ground NOW and put your hands out in front of you. What would you do? How are the police trained when people do not comply? They are indeed trained to beat the $hit out of you with those clubs (arms, legs, and back) which is exactly what they did... Walk a mile in there shoes. People pull guns and knives on cops, they're underpaid, under apreciated, and never given the benifit of the doubt. If he would have complied, he would not have been beaten, "GAME, SET, MATCH". He "chose" to be beaten. Not a choice I or you would make...

They can force him to the ground and cuff him. Just like you see day in and day out on the news, 'cops shows', and maybe even out your window. Hitting him countless times is totally uncalled for. It's how many men against 1? You mean to tell me beating him senseless is needed for that many officers to gain control of one man? It's common sense.

Robby - It's already established that he didn't comply and the cops beat him, the point being made is that these cops went far beyond what was necessary. Yes cops are underpaid and underappreciated, but not all are saints just like not all priests are saints. There was no excuse for the lenghts they went to, none.

Simply stated, he resisted arrest and and was subdued with the training the police officers receive at the academy.

Watch the video VERY closely, He was shot with a tazer and still did not comply. He rushed a police officer and was taken down, He still did not comply to the "stay down" orders. Robby has it right, if you cooperate things go so much smoother.

Do people really think that they should have wrestled him to the ground after he was so blatantly resisting?
At his point the officers had not been able to frisk him to see if he was carrying a weapon. Close contact is not a wise move in cases like these. He could have been armed or disarmed an officer and somebody could have ended up dead.

See if your community offers ride alongs with your local police. If they do sign up, it will be a real eye opener for most people. Honest, upstanding people do not run, resist, or threaten the police. Only the one's who have done something and are desparate not to get caught.

Well I'm done, Thank a police office for all they risk while they are out there on the streets.

Mike

btw, did you get a good look at that guy? He's built like Lawrence Taylor! He's got to be 6' 5" and 230. He would scare the hell out of me. He asked for it and he got it (and it wasn't a Toyota :-)

Unless his name is Clark "Rodney King" Kent, those cops should have had no problem holding him down without beating him in more places than the legs (please). Shouldn't cops be in good physical condition anyway?

What? Wud I say? I can't remember, it couldn't have been that bad!? Is there a place you can go and see what was said so I can use more innuendo next time? I'm certain I didn't attack anyone personally? Well, pretty sure. He chose to be beaten, a choice I would not make. I regret that I have but one thread to give for my philosophy!

Did I choose to be yanked? Well, sometimes! YANK ME, SPANK ME, AND DON'T GET UP TO THANK ME!

It went something like this, yeah, the police should be in shape, right. So what whould your minimum strength requirement be for the police? 6-2? 6-3? 220? 230? And of course you woulnd't allow women to be poice, right? I mean, they can be strong, but not like an NFL lineman. And oh yeah, what about Pee Sea Pee? Better up that to 280-290 and at least 6-3, is that what you're saying!!?? Cause if it is! Then you need to go see that new MTV movie!!
