What an experience -- I'm on my way to Dallas Wednesday morning for the Big Smoke. Nice weather, scenic backroad, Rush is on the radio (sorry if that ruined the image for some of you), and my thermos is full of freshly ground and brewed Mayorga Sumatra Mandheling coffee. I pull out an Ashton Cabinet Aberdeen sent months ago. An hour later the only thing that shocks me out of my euphoria is the burning sensation on my fingers. One of the best ever! And you coffee fans have got to try this coffee -- best ever! My favorite is the Kenyan. Thoughts on the Ashton Cabinet? The regular line near as good? Although stronger, VSG's comparable?

Ashton Cabineet is one fine stick CL, comparable to the VSG? , mmmmnn, I don't think so. Methinks the VSG has the advantage with that beautiful sun-grown wrapper. I've never had a bad one and that's a fact....Cheers....hope you had fun at the Big Smoke!...care to share????...lol...Brent

thanks CL! With regards to the Ashton VSG, it is a matter of taste. If you like the milder cigars, the Ashton cabinets would be more enjoyable to you than the VSG, and vice versa. I still prefer the Cabinet over the VSG, precisely because the first two VSG's I had out of the box knocked me over, very potent, so I am aging the rest to let them settle down a bit. The cabinets though are so easy to enjoy, and terrific flavor.

Oh yes, Aberdeen. Terrific flavor. At times, I like a fairly strong cigar, but my most memorable smokes seem to usually be of the "creamier" milder variety. Even maduros, and I know you'll agree, such as the Macanudo Maduro, I most enjoy when milder (absent of the heavier spice but with a great creamy flavor). However, many smokes considered "mild" seem to just be devoid of ANY flavor -- that I DON'T obviously like. It's got to have that big creamy flavor, preferably with that toasty aroma. BRENT, the Big Smoke was great! I went with three others. It's like grown-up trick-or-treating. I'll post more stuff later, especially at KC's Cigar Aficionados.
