Are there 9 people here interested in participating in a fantasy football league this year, I would be the 10th person? I am looking to start a Cigarbid Fantasy Football League and would love to hear from those that are interested.

Requirements:
1) You have to have access to a computer for the entire NFL season.
2) There would be a small entry fee to pay for the software/statistical service.
3) You have to send in your lineups every week.
4) You have to be available one Saturday or Sunday a week or two before the NFL season starts.
5) You have to be willing to have lots of fun dishing out and receiving a lot of flack for you players.

You do not need to have a lot of knowledge about the NFL or players as I've had several women participate that did not know the first thing about football and they didn't end up in last place either. They had a lot of fun and gave the so called "football experts" a lot of grief for being beat bya woman.

Anyway, send me an email if you are interested and I'll email you the league by-laws and a webpage containing the statistics of my league from last year. I do not like using the free services such as yahoo for we've tried them in the past, even a separate league last year, and there are always a good amount of problems throughout the year. that is the reason we pay for a service.

Email me at kyhuntsman atyahoodotcom.
Matt

I have been participating in the same ffl league now for the past 10 years and it is a great experience!

Hey I've just started Fantasy Baseball this week! Fantasy Football is still a ways away. But I may consider it.

This is my first time in a fantasy league. Let me see how I like it before I commit to yours.

Maybe I'm crazy butI haven't watched football in 20 years. The only football fantasy I have involves cheerleaders.

I would be interested.... How can we combine Fantasy football and perhaps some kind of cigar wager.... Like everyone puts in a good $15 to $20 5 pack and give the weeks highest score a prize plus lotsa sticks for the season winners??

Thoughts

Oh I definitely want to work cigars into this some how, but I also have to cover the cost of the statistics serverce. With 8 people, I would be able to cover the stat service at $10.00 a person. With 10 people, the cost would be slightly less.

I was thinking, you have both a regular season champion and a super bowl champion. The regular season goes for 14 weeks and the final three weeks is for the playoffs, only the top 8 teams make it to the playoffs.

Depending on the number of cigars everyone wanted to chip in, we could send one cigar to the person with the highest weekly score, and then 2 cigars to the regular season champ, and 2 for the superbowl for a total of 18 cigars for the season. If that seems high, we could just chip in a total of 5 cigars a person and split them 3 regular season winner and 2 superbowl winner. Or, we could chip in and buy several boxes and give them to the winner. Which ever it ends up being, the league will vote on it as a whole (majority rules).

I'm with db...I was going to suggest it -- of course the stat money could then go to buy more cigars of course!!! hoagie - I've used Yahoo for fantasy football and baseball for the last 3 years and haven't had any problems. For some reason we did our baseball draft online at sportsline.com instead of Yahoo...not sure why, but our league is actually on Yahoo.

Guys, We used Yahoo several times and had trouble with them both times. That is why we go with a paid service. Since it is a product for them, they are much more responsive to their customers needs.

I'll go ahead and send you the info and see if you're interested or not.

The league is tentatively full. If anyone backs out I will post again here on the board asking for new participants.

Once I've heard back from eveyone, I will send out an email asking for prospective dates to hold the draft. We will have to hold the draft online, so be thinking about that as well. Perhaps we can get a chatroom and monopolize that for the 2-3 hours it takes to do the draft.

Thanks,
Matt

This has gone far enough. The use of the word "Fantacy" has clear sexual implications and therefore could be considered OFFENSIVE! Please read and follow the forum guidelines. Thank you.

Robby,

Boy am I glad that I didn't use "Fantacy" in this post. You really had me worried there for a minute. I really thought that I'd be kicked off or something like tha tuntil i reread my post fourteen times to make sure I didn't use that profane or sexually charged word!

Whoo! Now I can breath a little easier man!
