I bid on two 5-packs of Montague #2s, because I thought for $4 per 5-pack is great. Sounds like a stand-up name, but man what dogrockets. I remember philly blunts from when I was younger tasting better than these. What would you do with these? The wrapper is like construction paper...no joke. BLEH!

sharky,
funny you should mention the construction paper. I thought the same thing on the maduro montegues I had some time back.
Give them some time, however, because they will mellow out. I wouldn't consider them a top notch cigar, but they were definately smokable with some time on them.
Mine were rolled tightly, but had a decent draw with some pepper flavor followed by some sweetness from the dry maduro wrapper.
Dry being the key word for the wrapper. Even after 6 months on them, I had to constantly lick my lips because they would dry out while smoking these!
Either way, they'll be worth the 80 cents you spent on them in a few months.

TG,

I'm gonna take your word on it, but its kinda hard to believe. I stacked all these maduro cigars on top of them hoping some of the oils will rub off. The draw was fine on mine, but there was no flavor at all. My brother, my girlfriend, and I each had one and we all thought they sucked. Maybe I will wait it out. Thanks

They aren't that bad once you put some time on them. I have probably 100 of the Montague's in a variety of sizes and they are definitely smokable after being in the 'dor for a few months. They aren't my go to cigar, but I don't feel bad handing them out to friends when they come over...which seems almost nightly since I've been smokin' stoges. I think they get a bad rap....give 'em some time. Check out the reviews at Smokemag.com and you'll see that people either love them or hate them. Some comment that age would help take the rough edges off. I agree...they are a decent smoke.

This is probably just a ploy to divert our bids...

I see most Montague's go for $4/5-pack so I think a lot of people agree with me. I ain't biting, unless these turn out to be good in 6 months.

i have 100 + montagues. i am smoking one as we speak, or at least while i type.

you should have bought the boxes of 25 for the same amount.

but wait, you would have more stuff you don't like, but they would only cost 16 cents each.

give them to friends, i don't want to buy another cooler chest. every time i look at the one in the workout room and the one in the bathroom and the three in the rumous room, i wonder why i need so many cigars.

when i get through posting i can't wait to open my new package of

Rick...I was wondering about those Bohemians. Good price. Do all the Bohemian's come in an ammo box humidor? There's one lot going for around $40 right now. It would be worth twice that just for the cool humidor. But, do they taste okay? Maybe it wouldn't matter at that price.
