When is an ISOM not an ISOM?

Remember: I'm allowed newbie questions.

People toss "ISOM" around here alot and I am having trouble figuring out what exactly that is. I know that an ISOM is not the same as an ISOM by Perdomo. I know that you can say "ISOM RyJ", but if ISOM was an RyJ, why not say RyJ? So if I say that I have never had an ISOM... what is it exactly that I have never had?

ONLY 1 DanD... Then you gotta start using the "search" feature...

ISOM = Island South Of Miami... Cuba...

But then aren't just about all the other islands south of Miami?? Dom. Rep, Hon, Nic, etc... hmmmmm...

I agree with him Low. Try and type the word ISOM in and see if you can sort throuh the 100 posts to find one that describes what ISOM means.
Same goes for PAM and PAN.

Dang! All I had to do was ASK what ISOM was? I've been awake three nights straight trying to find this in my cigar catalogs and reading thru ths search files. But not about to ask. Kinda like being lost but won't ask for directions.

The "search" mechinism or feature is not always the easiest tool to use, as you may not be quite sure what you are looking for. But, it does work and always remember the ISOM, that we talk about is Cuba!

Excellent list on the misc board, lowman. Printing now. How long can I maintain this newbie status. I like getting away with questions that are already answered.

You can keep asking "newbie" questions till you get "Slim Slapped"... which doesn't take long... I'm suprised you didn't get it on this post... :o)

Someone posted this acronym list a while back. Bookmark it and review it whenever you don't understand a term.

Lowman,

Last time I checked, Nicaragua and Honduras were not islands. The D.R. is part of one (they share it with Haiti), so I guess they're an ISOM too.

Yep, point taken!

Living in Southern Cal., I never know when my house might become an island anyway... It might take a while to float SOM, but I've got plenty of smokes to keep me occupied until then.

Hey you bunch of knuckle dragging barbarians, am I the only one that hates that stupid term ISOM? It's vile and crude. Cool guys say Habanos.

i'll go out on a limb.

habanas = cuban cigars made in cuba.
habanos = cigars made anywhere from cuban seed grown tobacco.

slim, jump in.

All I know is that the Commie bastards that distribute Cuban cigars call their company and their cigars Habanos (with an "O"). It's a good name, sounds right. I dunno from Habanas (with an "A"), I guess that would be a girl cigar.

ISOM is a stupid name and it pisses me off every time I hear it -- just one of many of my neurosises (sorry, I can't spell "neuroses").
